I think this group should be renamed A. Photon Classic and there should be another group for the S model since they are two very different beasts, it would maybe help with the confusion that we see sometimes, just saying ;)
happy printing all

So I just changed my lcd for the first time on my Photon S. But now the surface of the glass is lower than before. It doesnt quite come up to the flat surface of metal floor.

I put some capton tape around the edge, and the inside edge still has most of the sticky tape.
Ieveled the bed. But Im worried about if its going to work with the glass lowered.

The part for my printer arrived the other day. So I decided to get the E class printed. Since the build plate could fit 2 comfortably, I printed 2. These are 1/160 (N Scale)

There is a very small warp in the body. The second one had a small defect in the handrails too.

I airbrushed them tonight.

Noticed some odd holes in my print, god dammit. Time for a new screen. Had the wrong exposure last time and it failed I guess broken the LCD in a few spots. Luckily there LCD is cheap. Does it come with new glass or depends what/who I buy from. Someone with experience drop a comment on any advice or whatever, seems simple enough but some tips would be nice.

They really need a glass window on vat so can see if sticking to plate before gets to 50% ;)

I'm trying to level the bed, but looks like one corner is lower than the other 3, making the paper have friction on one corner and twist around the rest of the corners. the 3 screws are as tight as I can get it.

Is this close enough or does it need to be absolutely flat?

I don't want to keep lowering the build plate in fear of damaging the glass.

Thanks

I both hate and love Anycubic :)
I hate that I was placed well out of my comfort zone having to replace the mainboard to my Photon S, I love that after replacing it I turned it on and 1st time bingo :)
There is a certain sense of pride I will admit and releaf that it didnt burst in to flames :)

However the lessons I have learnt I shall try and pass on...
1 Take photos of everything ! It gets confusing inside there if you are not used to this sort of thing I did, but not for the right reasons anyways.
2 for the Photon S remove the side opposite the USB and power on/off side, again I did not and found out I had to remove the other side :)
3 stay calm and don't get flustered I advise reading glasses or even a magnifying glass for the more visually impared out there and a small pencil torch :)
4 the bolts they use may as well be made from plastic, get a good set of Hex keys that are made of strong metal the mix of soft hex key and soft bolts I expect will end in disaster for many people.

The downside of it all was the amount of glue on all the parts I had to remove, the bronze strip at the back had the most insane double sided tape on it that refused to leave, I accidently pulled the side protecting the sticky part and it all just turned to goo, why they would use this over just one sided tape is beyond me :) The glue looked like the sort from a glue gun inside is tight so I'm guessing it;s for transporting them and hoping none of the cables come out but damn it was every where !

I saw the bottom fan of the Photon Classic is a 60mm fan x 10mm depth. Clearance space till the uv heatsink is about 19-20mm. Any tips on replacing this fan? Is noisy as hell.... Saw a few Noctua 92mmx15mm and 120x15mm but i dont know how to properly adapt it to the bottom chasis vent holes. Cant find a proper and slim 3-4mm adapter either!

Anyone have tips about getting the last bit of this to print and not deform? I oriented it at 45°, with the right side hanging lowest. I’ve tried different supports and had deformities on the last layers three different times now (although this was the worst).

I’ve used both the Anycubic software and Chitubox. This is the Anycubic green resin that came with the printer. Medium supports used, with extras placed at corners and edges (including up to the points where it failed). The part is hollow, with holes along the bottom edge of the glasses, both near the plate and further down. Using 8 seconds exposure time at .05 layer height.

Lots of other prints have been successful - just not this particular file.

Thoughts on layering? This is the 3rd print of this is my 3rd attempt (and its an 8 hour print) - The top (which is the very bottom when its being printed is smooth as glass, yet the sides have some very serious layering. Thoughts on how to improve this?
