Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » LCD

Hi everyone,
After quite a few prints, my Photon does not work anymore :
- Power switch turns the LCD screen on properly
- USB is working, I can read the card's content
- No fan
- No possible movement on the z-axis
- no UV light on the LCD screen

I can "launch" a print, the proper printing screen appears but nothing else.

I reflashed the 1.0 firmware. Flash worked, no change in behavior.

Has anyone seen that behavior ? Faulty or disconnected power cable inside maybe ?

Church of the Blue Plate
PSA

Greetings Photonsters, monsters, guys and gals, true blue believers and silver sanded cultists alike.

Here's a tip to avert major catastrophe when it's time to do maintenence on your Photon. A little preventive measure can save you ¥€$ and weeks of downtime.

Protect your screen at all times!

Starting a teardown with the carriage up, while removing the screws holding the plate carrier, a little slip and one of the screws dropped 20cm down smack into the glass protector screen. Thankfully Photonia was watching over, the glass screen suffered just a little nick, no cracks and the lcd display is still intact.

It could have been a disaster if the screen and the lcd cracked. So, remember, no matter how handy you think you are, a little precaution goes s long way. Before fiddling around with the screen exposed, always cover it with something soft and non scratch.

Happy printing!

Here's a little something we're working on at Makerjuice Labs for the LCD printer folks: Grey Standard Resin! More prints to follow. :)

Update: The Blob Chronicle woes culprit was not resin related nor was it caused by defective LCD. It turns out my main board was faulty, giving intermittent output and variable results. Some times good prints but mostly failed prints including the blobs, making it extremely difficult to diagnose the problem and caused a lot of confusion on my part and to the very kind photonsters who were very nice to help me with my problem. I got my main board from Anycubic and although, I haven’t had the time to test it out thoroughly yet, my first 3 prints since the main board replacement have been successful ?? .

The case of the mystery blob: Solved.
After 24 hours of almost non-stop printing and thru trials and many, many errors, I can now conclude that the blob was caused by 2 incompatible resins mixed together. What confounded this mystery was that at least one of the photonsters in this group, mixed the same kind of resins in similar percentages and yet got very good results. Thank you for the many Sherlock Holmes in this group for providing inputs and possible theories. Special mention to Sen Kun for his guidance and valuable insights. The 6th and finally successful print is a monocure calibration model downloaded from their website, using monocure rapid clear with the following settings: .040, 12, 2, 60, 6. Resins used resulting in blob (model was supposed to be a 20 mm XYZ cube) were anycubic gray with 20% Flex100. Lesson learned (at least for me) = only mix Monocure Flex100 with the same brand (Monocure Rapid).
