I am trying to update my photon to use the epax firmware, I have put the .lcd and .bin files on a usb and when I go to print the .lcd first it says "unknown file format". Is there something I need to do beforehand?

Photon 5.5 ver 4.2.12

Hi guys, I need help.
I'm was changing Photon's LCD by tutorial video, but the silver side of the LCD is completely stuck to the backing acrylic. I was able to remove the silver part only by removing the acrylic from its place, but I noticed that it has a protrusion that can be cured resin, but I don't think it is, it is too resistant to be resin, I can't remove it at all.

Maybe I have to change the backing acrylic, can anyone tell if it's a normal laser cut acrylic? Or is there any detail I need to know?

Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a Photon I bought in August 2019 and it's seen almost daily use. Recently it began shorting out randomly. I've noticed the small fan next to vat no longer works. I've just bought a Photon S too, but now I cannot run both since if the original Photon shorts out everything turns off and I lose multiple prints.

I've tried using a different powerpoint and updated firmware. After the firmware update the fan speed was fluctuating as the LCD on the front changed with each layer.

I have submitted a ticket to Anycubic support, but I sell my models and this has caused a really frustrating problem in terms of lost/failed prints. I really need two printers working. :(

I'm not really electrically minded, and I did ask this question recently in this group or another Anycubic group (sorry for the repost), but I'm hoping someone can help while I wait for a response from Anycubic?

I use wax on the FEP and the vat and the back side of the build plate but never use wax on the build plate face were prints need to hang on. The brand I use is Turtle Wax as it is the only one with a small 50ml sachet for I do not need a lot. 3ml is too much already but we can apply several layers of wax. Original Super Hard Shell car wax is the product. Of course you can use any car wax or carnauba car wax without the cleaner as some mixed with cleaners or rubbing compound. The idea is we have to use a release agent for the resin to not stick on the surface and with previous knowledge on resin and fiberglass, wax is a common release solution. No more hard sticking resin on any surface that we do not want it to cling. Vat is easy pour without clinging resin on any waxed surface. FEP remains clear and shiny and resin slide away when pouring without leaving any residue. The back side of the build plate is also easy to clean and resin drips easily when tilted. Just follow product procedure on application, that is use only tiny amount and apply on the surface using a microfiber cloth until it become hazy on the surface, let it dry and buff with clean and dry microfiber cloth to shine. Apply two or more coating but if you are too excited, a single application can do the job.

If you want to wax the LCD cover and the metal surface around it, go ahead that whenever droplets of resin hit the surface, it will be easy to clean.

Prints are not affected as wax does not easily remove itself. If you want to wash the Vat and FEP surface, water with mild dish soap or even mild shampoo can clean it fast and wax is not affected.

After almost a year of flawless performance, I found this 106g block of SOLID resin instead of my print! I had printed the file once before and it was fine, this was the second print.

I ran the LCD test and got the result you see here.

I rebooted the printer and got a normal LCD test after that.

Is this the warning sign of a dying LCD?

Preheating a full vat on a heated FDM bed. These little $1 LCD thermometers with wired probes are super handy for stuff like this.

Hi everyone, my printer arrived yesterday and I already have my first problem (T100 LCD error). To not to lose my warranty, I decided against opening the printer and looking for the problem myself (e.g. loose pin headers).

I filed an issue at the after sales support portal and now it's a bit longer than 24 hours after I entered the ticket. When I try to access my ticket I can see it - but I can't change anything (I want to add a screenshot) and when I try to gain access, I get this SMS error. Is this normal? Or got my ticket lost somewhere in the process? Or am I just too impatient? Thanks in advance!

So I guess this means my photon needs a new LCD screen?

Brand new out of the box this happened. I contacted anycubic customer support and after having me check that the lcd was plugged in and the firmware was up to date sent me a replacement mobo. Customer support on that end was great and fairly easy.
Is this really a motherboard issue, though? I'd hate to have waited almost three weeks for the mobo to ship from China, to have it be the wrong part, since I'd like to print some stocking stuffers for Christmas.

Update: the motherboard was bad. After just over 3 weeks from contacting support, I got a new one in the mail and got it going. The prints are great now, and everything is working flawlessly.
