So all my prints, regardless of size and settings fail at 90% with a memory error M_11820. I know it's an issue with the USB cable because if I plug the stick directly to the motherboard I don't have errors. I tried 3 different sticks and still the same problem. If the cable is the problem, why all my prints fail at 90% instead of at a random number?

Argh! I guess I must have bumped something (USB?) when I took off the carton I use to capture fumes and sound, to check on the print. All I saw was a weird pattern on the touchscreen And fully cured layers on top of my beautiful print.
I think i saw the issue with full layers being cured before, but I can not find it..
This is my third print, first of this size.
Whats the solution here to prevent this from happening ever again?
Thank you :)

Guys...This is a total NOOB question, I know this...

But can someone guide me with what I need to print my own files? Do I need the .photon file with the .stl? What do I need on the USB stick and where does it need to be? The given USB stick doesn't have any .stl files on it, it just has the .photon file. Nothing I am doing seems to be showing up when I plug it into the Photon. Need some help...

*another edit* Reformatted the USB, this time I started tidying the craft room watching it..it just kept printing..so I decided to leave, and hit the light switch as I walked out and it stopped printing and I felt like the biggest idiot.... we moved it to the craft room and we were ruining all our prints by walking out the door and basically shutting off the power..will it cause any problems to shut the power off when we are not using it? Does it need to be reset or anything?

much like everyone else, the first 3 prints were great, and now it's not working anymore. I guess onto the laundry list of what could be wrong... :)

Anyone else had this strange issue... yesterday my Photon would read any USB drive and has done for over a year of use. Yesterday it started to show blank spaces where files should be. I have 3 Sandisk 16GB which read fine but the supplied 4GB sticks show this error on the screen. They read perfectly fine in my PC. It seems that whenever I turn my Photon on it decides to screw up in one way or another...

Hey everyone, I just got the Anycubic Photon and wanted to share my experience in case anyone runs into the same issue.

I had two successful prints, but it stopped working after that. Every print after that just froze and restarted after the first layer.
I did all the usual trouble shooting steps; re-level the bed, used a different usb stick, made sure only one file was on there with a short name and no special characters, also tried plugging the usb stick into the main board..etc, but no luck. I contacted customer service who eventually told me to use insulated tape to separate the bottom of the vat and metal of the 2k screen frame. After doing this I’m at 3 successful prints. I haven’t taken the machine apart to see why it would cause it to behave this way, but it’s pretty odd. For the time being I’m just happy with the awesome quality of the prints!

I am getting ready to contact Anycubic3d about this printer. I have had it for 4 days and it has quit working. The screen comes on and the light for the end stop works. I can select the different files on the USB drive. But, when I am ready to print the file, nothing happens. No fan, no movement of the stepper. But, the program from the USB drive does cycle through on the screen just as if it was printing. Nothing shows up on the LCD either. Neither when the print is running or if I attempt to do the LCD check rectangle. I really like this machine, but 4 days is not long enough to justify the price. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok running into some issues:

Had the usb error so changed usbs
Then had failed print cleaned vat and drained etc
Then ran a print and it started curing a layer without the build plate going into the vat
So I cleaned vat, filtered etc
Then reset z level
Now it’s resetting the printer on first layer every time.

The dread M11800 error again.

Second mainboard, about 12 successful prints (less than 20 on the machine since new) and now this stupid issue again. Have tried all the usual fixes except reflowing the solder on the USB header.

Have we got a definite consensus about what is causing this as I'm at the end of my tether with this thing? There has got to be some sort of hardware fault/quality control issue as only a new mainboard fixed it on my brand new Photon last time.

Not a happy camper after buying 5l of resin.

Using a RaspberryPi Zero W, it's possible to 'Network’ enable the Photon.
Configuring the Pi to ‘appear’ as a USB mass storage device. Then by enabling SAMBA, you can copy files over wifi from a desktop/laptop to the remote share. A few seconds later the file is available, ready to print. Seems to work ok. Not actually printed any files yet, so don’t rely on it for your multi hour print, without suitable testing. Also presents other issues such as gracefully powering down the pi before turning off (although its possible to run the pi from a separate power supply, eg batteries)
