Happy how the little guy turned out. First ever mini printed and painted (as a matter of fact: first mini painted in the last 15 years or so :-) ....imagine my surprise when some of the paint I purchased in the 90ties still worked...lol.) Free miniature for everyone from the Dread Forge! This miniature was created as part of an Abomination model challenge in which my Patrons selected 2 words and my Twitch viewers picked the last.

The words used were (Turgid, Rugged, and Butts). I interpreted butts as headbutt or hitting them with the butt of his axe. So I decided to make an Ogre Warrior.

I remixed the otherwise awesome De-Stinky-Nator
( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4007108 ) so I can hook up a square-to-round air duct fitting I had laying around, I added a 4mm half-round groove along the top so I can fit a gasket made from 4mm silicone tube (or a bead of silicone caulk... we will see what works best...). A thin test slice (to check tolerances and fit) is printing now... ;-)

Hey all, was wondering what your recommendations for testing tolerances (how well stuff fits together) with your Photon's? I've seen a few of them on thingiverse but they all look like they were designed with FDM printers in mind.

Reason for the question is I started to print the "Seven the Articulated Dragon" model on my photon and I'm having a lot of trouble with the parts fitting together, they're too tight so it feels like I'd be breaking them while trying to snap them together, and it was designed with a tolerance of about 50 microns in mind.

Sharon Apple Virturoid from Macross Plus. File from thingiverse, hollowed and printed at .03 in Monocure Grey.

When it printed it had a few little defects due to air bubbles in my roughly shaken resin (my bad), also it come close to detaching from the plate due to suction. If I ever print another I think I would want to tweak the base layers or not be lazy with supports. I printed it flat on the plate to avoid post cleanup but of course that meant there was no way for the hole to allow suction release. Remember guys always think about hollow models and suction issues when you set up your prints.

Looks kind of good with some paint on though.

My first custom hero forge mini, the Hat Box Ghost from the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. I had to add the cane and hatbox in Blender. The hat box was made from scratch, the cane is made from the lower half of Chirrit Imwe's staff on Thingiverse (by CaseStudyno8), and edited in Blender.

Finally got my heater installed. 1st attempt would slide down, so I modified it to add six 6mm magnets and now she's steady as a rock.

Printed in Siraya Tech's SCULPT (high heat deflection temperature appears to hold up well to the heat so far). I did wind up mixing in about 20% Siraya BLU to help with strength.

Mounted the PSU to the back of the photon...

I Need to get more pics but testing with a print now so that will have to wait...
