I’m trying to print .photon .photons files in my new photon s updated at the last firmware. When I copi the files in mi mac the printer frezze in the print menu. If I copy them in windows the printer works fine. Anyone work with the photon s and Mac? I contact with the anycubic photon to expose this and their response has “the photon s only supoort .pws files”

I have been using the USB drive that came with my Photon for printing. Folks say not to trust it, but my other USB drives (all FAT32 just like the supplied one) won't work.

Has anyone who has had this problem figured how to solve it? (In an emergency, I can get the Photon to read the memory card from my audio recorder, but it's a cumbersome solution.)

FYI, I'm using a Mac.

Detaching supports.
Having a reoccurring issue with some (not all) supports detaching during printing. Using medium sized supports. They always seem to be in the middle of the build plate. New FEP, new screen (old one burnt out) and freshly leveled each time. Running two Photon S machines. Happening on both. Updated both to latest firmware, is that a possibility?
Running the machines in my garage and temperature is starting to drop a little, another factor?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi guys. I am sure this has been talked about somewhere so I apologize in advance. I can't seem to use my search-fu to find it. I have an original photon. I have not used it in awhile. I never updated any firmware etc. I always used the basic slicer that came with it and had great results. I had to format my computer so I downloaded anycubic's latest slicer. Now I can't get the machine to read any usb sticks. I put the stick in and boot up which makes it take a long time to boot then it basically wont let me get into any options like its frozen. Boot without usb and it works fine. Boot and insert usb it freezes. I have tried formatting usb, multiple different usb, usb I KNOW worked before etc. Is this a problem with the new slicer? Do I need to update firmware? Any help appreciated in advance. Thanks.

I'm really happy with my Photon, and all of a sudden I'm finding myself looking for an FDM printer for larger pieces - mainly miniature gaming stuff (ships, houses and the like). Any recommendations? Things I'm looking for:

- Very good quality. Striations are why I've steered clear of FDM in the past, and printing with the Photon has established certain standards. I'm looking for as close to resin quality as possible. Miniatures I'll print on the Photon, so that's not an issue.

- Decent price point. I'm looking to spend something along the lines of 250-400 EUR (~275-440 USD, 213-340 GBP).

- Large enough build area. I have the Photon for smaller pieces. The Photon's build plate is pretty small at 115 x 65 x 155 mm. I don't need a huge machine, but something noticeably bigger.

- Ease of use. Time is money etc, so while I don't mind tinkering, I'm not looking to build a machine from scratch and start with printing replacement parts for it. The more plug & play it is, the better! Of course as with the Photon, I'm happy to tweak settings for the best results and so on.

I'm currently looking at the Creality Ender 3 and (inspired by recent reviews) the Lotmaxx SC-10. Any others worth considering? Experiences with these machines? All help is welcome!

After leveling the unit, if you relocate the unit to a different area do you need to re-level the machine or is it to just set the calibration of the plate to screen one time?

Greetings,

While I understand most of the information available on photonsters is geared towards the original Photon, and for good reason, I own an S and after a few test prints I have some doubts about what could be the optimal work process to get the best of my prints.

While using Photon Workshop 2.1.19 I notice that, if I change the machine from the S to the original Photon, I see that the final calculated times to print change noticeably. About 10-20% slower with the .photon file against the .photons file. Are these differences in calculations accurate? Does any real difference exist if I use one kind of file over the other with the S? I know there are a lot of utilities that need the .photon and that makes it more interesting, I mean about straight printing differences between formats.

To my understanding, Chitubox is a more desiderable alternative. Is the machine configuration for chitubox for the S the same as for the original Photon? 1440 x 2560 px, 68.04 X, 120.96 Y, 150 Z, LCD Mirror?

I've seen the exposure calibration set is not working on the S as you cannot currently execute the gcode file on it. Any recommendation on how to fine-tune the exposure times beyond the city test print? I can tell apart if the piece is underexposed fine enough, but I struggle with overexposure. I even think that in the documentation the overexposed print looks better

Thank you very much

PHOTON or MARS? (question for those that own BOTH)
So I have owned the Photon for 4-5 months now. It is decent. My prints are still hit or miss. Probably my fault. But I've had to replace the LCD, and I have had to re-level it, and it is looking like it needs leveling again tonight from some thing odd that happened to this morning's prints. Otherwise, I have enjoyed making stuff on it. Even made a little money making cool stuff for people.

I would like to get a second machine... But I am not sure if I want another PHOTON or not.

QUESTION for those that own BOTH Photon and ELEGOO MARS..... would you recommend the MARS orver a second Photon?
Why or why not?

THANKS!

I have a file that I sliced with Chitubox set up for Anycubic EC yellow resin. It took me several hours to prepare the file for printing with File Validator.

It prints fine, but I would like to reprint it with Anycubic green. I tried to open the .photon file with Chituboxbut it is is too big (28.6 MB) for Chitubox to handle.

I really don't want to go through the File Validator process again with a new slice. It was complicated and quite time consuming to do, both to set up the many supports and to clean it up with File Validator. Is there a way to alter the resin/printing characteristics of the .photon file?

Oh, I’m using a Mac
