Once again anycubic has altered their page so much that product package description doesn't match the option up top to pay, say's you only get resin with $299 pack but yet most expensive is $279.

When ordering my machine pack list said box had a starter bottle and never got one.. Just be careful of their constant practise of swapping what you "might " get.

Still missing a bottle to this day but telling them is worse than talking to a wall.
Get stupid response's about stock and warehouse's.
Bout time anycubic stop this dodgy practice and stuck to one package and machine, get the slicers right on the pages for each model and get your customer service up to scratch. English translators are everywhere now so no excuse.

Dont be fooled.

P.S Love the machine

Okay, this is the second pinhole leak in my FEP within a matter of weeks. What am I doing wrong? I don't stir the resin in the vat with a foreign object, I only remove the vat from the machine if there's a failure and I need to clean out the cured bits. So why is it wearing out so quickly?

Also, is there a substitute I can use for FEP material while I wait for my new FEP to arrive?

Having problems with print sticking to build plate. Everything seem to be in working order. I'm using Anycubic resin that came with the machine. I have had success with some prints but the most recent print no dice! Any suggestions on the settings.

A message to AnyCubic. Any news on the larger sized MSLA machine. Need to have an idea for a release date. Otherwise ill move towards the Epax X9/X10

If anyone else here knows something, please leave a reply.

Well 3 hours remaining on a 12 hour print. Not sure why it’s taking this long I think I have some of my settings wrong. But oh well. Hopefully I don’t run out of resin! This is my first big print on this machine. So far it looks really good. Will for sure continue to use chitubox rather than the actual anycubic slicer.

(A typical post in the group.)

OP
Hey guys I'm having a problem with X, I've tried to run Y but it's not working as somehow only Z happens. What could be the problem?

R1
Y sucks, you should use A instead.

R2
No. A isn't the best, I've heard B is way better. But the difference between A, B and Y doesn't justify the effort to upgrade it and you'll also need to use C for it.

R3
What is C? Where can I get it?

R4
Try sanding the build plate.

R1
No! Keep it blue! $¥#£&@ sandpeople!

R2
C is some user mod, I think it's on thingiverse. Or was that myminifactory. Yeah one of those.

OP
Where can I find A, will it really help?

R2
Nah, you don't need A, get B it's way way better. Personally, I use E instead. Just used to it cuz I run it on my 35 FDM printers as well.

R1
No way. A is the dog's bollocks. It's better than sliced bread. You don't know what you're talking about.

R2
I have 15 years of FDM printing experience, and a PhD in applied rocket science, plus 36 printers in my garage.

R1
Obviously doesn't leave you any time to use the resin printer. You still don't know what you're talking about.

R5
Blu? Ya I'm keeping it blu, it's really tough.

R3
Can't find it. Can anyone link me? I'm using the D mod instead, but C sounds good.

OP
How can I fix X?!

R4
D? Wow. STL?

R5
Did you relevel?

R6
Just do a firmware upgrade, use the 4.2.18 version, I heard 4.2.19 is buggy.

OP
How do I upgrade? I have Photon S.

R7
Use Epax X1 firmware instead.

R6
Yeah, the X1 seems like a better machine.

R3
The S is better, it's got dual everything!

R8
Wait for the Mars Pro, that'll be better than everything else.

R2
No. Original is best. Networking, baby. Plus community tools.

R3
Who needs it? Right. Noone. Dual smellinators are worth the price difference, plus prints twice as fast. OK so I replace LCDs more than my underwear, but that's not the point.

R9
Hey guys I can't find anycubic grey resin anymore, why are they always out of stock?

OP
Guys please. How do I fix X?

R3
Try elegoo grey, it's better.

R6
Make sure you buy from Amazon. Easy returns in case goes wrong.

R9
I've never had a problem buying from Aliexpress.

R1
Aliexpress sucks, you should use eBay instead.

R2
No. eBay isn't it, I've heard Amazon is way better. But the difference in buyer protection between Aliexpress, eBay and Amazon doesn't justify the additional cost.

R4
Random GIF. Think MJ and popcorn.

OP

Hi -- I'm brand new to resin 3D printing (have had a couple of filament printers for several years now) and just received my Anycubic Photon. The videos that show the leveling process show a build plate that moves very freely around the ball joint when the set screw is loosened or completely out. Mine is incredibly stiff and takes quite a bit of work to move it -- is this normal for a new machine?

Looking for some advice from the experts: having problems with random reboots after first layer is printed..

This is on an original Photon. I have seen the problem a few times before, but recently it is happening >50% of the time I start a print. Basically the print starts as normal, the plate goes down to z=0 and the layer is exposed for the appropriate time (say 80 or 100s). Next the plate either raises slightly or not at all, the printer stops for a few seconds (blank display) then reboots back to the start screen. There is no way to continue the print The first layer has printed fine and is stuck nicely to the plate.
I have done a fair bit of fault-finding. Some observations: It happens with different models. It does not seem to be a corrupt file as it will sometimes work on the second or third attempt with the same file. Have tried three or four different USB sticks. Same problem regardless When the print gets past the first two or three layers, it usually seems to succeed. I have otherwise had very successful prints with nice detail and I am not seeing any problems with levelling etc. I typically do not re-level beween prints, but I have tried doing so and it does not seem to make any difference to this issue. Problem is seen with both 0.02 and 0.05 layer heights.
This weekend, I decided to throw everything at it, and did the following: Updated firmware to 4.2.18 Replaced power brick with a good quality one (from RS online) rated at 12V, 7A Replaced internal USB extension cable (also RS online) Bought new Sandisk USB drive (16Gb), newly formatted with FAT32 Cleaned and carefully lubricated Z-rod with lithium grease. I started a print with a plate full of small parts and it failed as described above. Without changing anything (not even removing USB from slot, or even removing the cured resin from the printer), I started the print again. It failed a second time. As the layers are only 0.02mm, I figured I could get away with one more attempt without removing the cured resin, so again, I restarted the same file on the same USB without changing anything. The first seven or eight layer have gone fine, I could hear the click of the print pulling off the FEP and I hope it is still running. I have done something similar once before and had a perfect print on the second or third attempt. Having worked with fault-finding various machines for most of my working life, I have learned that 'gut-feelings' cannot really be trusted. Having said that, this feels a bit like something is happening when the motor is under most strain (a fair proportion of the plate is covered in support bases, and the cure time is of course extended for the first layers). Considering the things I have already replaced, there isn't much left to try: maybe I can look at reducing the bottom layer times. Otherwise I am worried the problem is with the mainboard (or the motor/driver?)
Any suggestions? 翻譯年糕

Hi everyone.

North Florida resident here, original Photon owner of less than six months. Bought new from anycubic.

My z-axis is not moving. I tried to do manual steps in ten millimeter increments but it is not moving at all. It does make a whirring sound, which tells me something is up with the motor.

Have you ever had this issue? My photon is basically brand new with less than a hundred hours on it.

It did have a twelve hour successful print two days ago.

I've turned off the power and unplugged the machine for approximately twenty minutes and still no dice upon rebooting.
