Received the build plate I ordered from Anycubic.
It is the machined surface version. So much flatter than the one supplied with my photon (anodized build plate).
Curious to see if that machined surface makes a difference when printing.

Have just installed, leveled and set zero. I’m going to try it out tomorrow

So, the fan inside the machine is barely moving now. I don't really need it. As it's just for exhaust/fumes. Can I just cut those wires completely and just cap them off or should I unplug it from the board? Having an hard time trying to get to it.

I just received a Photon (non S) and have it in my office. I find that the LED fan is extremely loud, 65 db at about 18 inches according to my cellphone app and 70 db at 1 inch. This is too loud to work around. I have seen numerous references to this being a "quiet" machine which I know is relative but this seems a bit much. It doesn't seem to be failing (grinding), just loud. Is this unusual? Does anyone else feel the noise from their Photon is loud enough to be headache inducing?

Brittle prints: is there a sensibly priced flex additive available in the UK? The Monocure stuff seems rare and expensive, comparatively.

I am using the Anycubic green resin that comes with the machine at the moment; is Elegoo grey less brittle (was planning to get some as my next resin purchase anyway, just wondering if I'll still need some flex to go in it)?

Pretty sure this is insane z-wobble. I recently adjusted my eccentric bearing and am assuming I made it too loose?

Just how tight am I supposed to have it?
If I tighten it any more than the rolling feels less smooth and is more chunky, but it's much tighter in the rail.

I currently have the bearing tightened to the point where it rolls extremely smoothly in the rail, but not so loose that it slides down on its own.

Should I ignore the non-smoothness when I tighten it more and just crank it to the point where it's absolutely rock solid?

Really starting to get discouraged with this machine, I'm outside of the return window and disappointed seeing as I know how capable it really is of amazing print quality.

Need help with a Photon S problem. Does anybody ever find that when you go to the click print and it brings up the preview screen, that certain files freeze up the machine and you can't click print (or anything)? Some files this happens on, others it does not. I'm not sure how to resolve it. Sometimes reslicing the file fixes it, and sometimes just copying it back over the .photons file fixes it. I've ruled out the memory card as I've encountered the issue across 3 different known good cards (none of which came with the machine.) Any ideas?

Had LCD (the one for UV, not the touch screen one) issues and replaced it using the youtube tutorial from the company.

Afterwards, the touch screen stopped working. First time firing the machine up after installing new LCD and the display seemed fine but touching it did nothing. Made sure there was nothing disconnected inside and tried to fire it up again. This time it gives me a "Parameter Error" message. I click the only available button "Yes" and it does nothing.

Any ideas wtf is goin on here?

Hello,

Is this Z wobble? PrimaCreator transparent green resin, Chitubox and these settings. It doesn't bother me too much, but if there's a quick fix I wouldn't mind

Hi Everybody! I'm uploading all my process and experience in sanding the base. The first printed pics are with the original anodized aluminum, even after a good leveling and exposure times at the base as 200 secs, thicker supports and raft, and 25 secs per layer, (.03mm) all the prints failed. So I got tired and began to sand it by hand, and in the first printing attempt in one corner of the base one shape of that print finally got well. So, I sanded even more and then two A letters went well but I realized that my sanding technique would never be as flat as a machine would do, so I took it to a bench to get the perfect flatten ( or so). After that, I ran the same file and now still isn't perfect but I managed to print 6 letters well. The resin I'm using is Tiger burgundy and is casteable. The bottle recommends 3.5 secs per layer and I'm using 18 secs, 200 secs at bottom layer, 12 base layers, at .03mm with 40mm/min , and a light off delay of 3 secs per layer. Now I going to decrease this times, because I'm thinking that now that the suction is higher, maybe I will need less exposure times, anyway... this is like the 9th try, and I sanded with a 240 sandpaper very lightly to remark some brushed texture and see if this improves the resin attachment. I have to admit that I was that kind of person who refused sanding the base, but when in all resins like Anycubic green and gray, you succeed and suddenly began to fail doing everything right, you begin to feel uncomfortable about it, so... I gave up and sand the god damn base. I'm going to print now a bigger file, with so much more weight and see how it goes... Wish me luck!
