I know it has been asked a trillion times but I am new here so be gentle please? I am looking at buying a Photon 2. Is the Photon 2 compatible with Mac OS? Thank you in advance.

This may have been answered before,

But I'm sitting here waiting an AGE for this slicer to complete so I thought I have the time so why not ask the question.

What is the slicer using to slice?

is it using the Processor or the Graphics card?

I'm on a fairly old Mac Pro, but it's still got an incredibly powerful processor in it, but the graphics card in this machine is really terrible.

Should i be slicing with my PC which has a much more powerful GPU?

Or is the slicer just not fast and I have to deal with it.

I use Cura 4.1 for slicing FDM prints and it whizzes through in literally seconds, even on prints that are 24 hours plus it slices in a couple of minutes.

I estimate the print in the attached screenshot will take around 4 hours to print, and so far it's taken 45 minutes just to slice... it's infuriating!

***EDIT***
Can't get Chitubox to work on my mac, it loads but then screen goes crazy!

Not too bad for a first print off a free machine. I didn't get enough support on the right leg, but it was just a settings test anyway.

Hello. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone, or can anyone help me. I have Photon about 4 months ago, and until today the machine has been little used. Everything was working perfectly when the machine reported error T_88. I saw on Github ( https://github.com/…/ma…/known-issues/photon-known-issues.md ) that the problem would be on the LCD screen. After this machine also accused error L_10 a few times, and this error is not found on the internet. Even after this happened Photon kept working, sometimes printing stopped and sometimes it stopped, showing the error screen but with the option to continue. Pressing play often continued printing normally. A few weeks ago Photon stopped working. The LCD screen no longer shows the rectangle during the UV detection test, the entire screen turns blue. Already tried to change the firmware and nothing has changed. I contacted Anycubic, and they sent me firmware 4.2.5, this firmware ended up generating a "Machine Errer Code Status" file, which I sent to Anycubic to analyze. At first they told me that the error would be on the motherboard, then they told me it would be the LCD screen. My Photon is still in the warranty period, but since I can't stand still waiting for the LCD screen from China to Brazil, I ended up asking a friend of mine to bring a screen from the United States. Yesterday I changed the LCD screen and could see that the error was not the screen because the printer continued to have the same problem. The LCD screen turns totally blue. Does anybody know how to solve this? Thanks in advance

I had the .STL printed out for the rear Photon exhaust port to add a fan system later.outside of a few artifacts on the outside surface it printed well.. this was done on a 30k dollar printer. Print took 14 hours to complete. I had a Machine/tool shop complete for me. Man I wish I could have the toy they use ?

Ok same file, same usb, same level method. Print on one machine and it’s fine try on another and shit fails. Keep getting a thinner base layer in the middle of my build plate. I thought this was my fan cooling the middle to much and causing my resin to fail but last night I turned it off and got the same failure.

So I cleared build plate, re-levelled. Printed fine but the build plate is now so close that I am marking and I am guessing going to pierce my FEP again (the whole reason why I re-levelled again and made it a bit further away).

So I guess the question is Un-even build plate? Don’t have access to a straight edge or any proper measuring device that would answer that question for me. But I can’t see any other reason for the failures.

My printer will no longer turn on. I put the USB into the Photon and the machine started to beep at me. Unplugged, turned off, plugged USB back in, turned back on, same thing. Replaced the files on the USB and then attempted again. Will no longer turn on with or without USB plugged in. No lights, no noise, nothing. Tried on different plugs and still nothing. Adaptor has green light when plugged in so that part is atleast getting power.
