Is this possible?
I want to reduce the power [current] of the Z axis motor on a photon. To make levelling safer for the screen.

looking at the control board it seems to have a motor controller that is adjusted via software not hardware. does anyone have an idea if this can be done by injecting some g-code or it requires a whole different firmware?

My plan/theory, after powering on the machine set it in safe mode [low current/motor power], get the machine to lower the level build platform down into the FEP and let the motor skip steps. Now we are at zero and resting on the FEP, we turn the motor power back to default and print from this Z=0 position.

This should stop me being an idiot and breaking the screen during calibration.

Help!!! Printer beeped three or more times and then went black.

I had just finished running a resin exposure test and I selected “print mode” file as always. After a minute or so I switched thumb drives to print a different file and the printer beeped several times and then the screen went black. I switched thumb-drives and the led on the drive lit up. I powered the machine off and back on... nothing.

Anyone experienced an issue like this? I’m running the new beta software so that’s the only thing I can think that might be glitching unless it’s hardware.

So i just went through my first 500ml bottle of elegoo grey and only managed to get about 240g of printed models,of which about half are fails.not a succes rate i'm overly happy with but i'm still getting the hang on my machine so the succes rate will rise (hopefully). However, even with no fails that means i'm wasting about 50% of my resin! How are all of you saving your resin after a print? Letting it drip at an angle for a couple of hours?

Does anyone else get a slight condensation of resin underneath the vat after a print?.
With this new plastic to line the vat with it seems like I get a very small bit of condensation between it and the glass in the printer it doesn't flood or run all over the place. It's as if it's only a few drops somehow make their way underneath every print.
I have tried loading the resin in the vat before I put it in the machine I have done everything I can to make sure it's as clean as possible but I still get a residue after the print is done between the vet and the glass. Theres no sloppiness all over the machine nothing

The photon is a very capable 3d printer, I have a Projet 1200, and eventhough the resolution is very similar one to each other, the antialiasing is a very handy tool that helps a lot to eliminate the anoyning layer from the mold and the casted pieces. I have no complains with this quality and the astonishing price... But... It's a russian roulette to print anything, always has failures and those aren't from a "regular" 3d printer, the errors doesn't came only from a bad supporting or a bad tilted or flat position of your models, they came from the hardware and software of the machine. Poor quality in components and a lot of bugs, ( again the price)but when you suceed, you have a very high quality printing and all the bad experiences go to second plane... I think this is a typical love-hate relationship haha. Happy printings!
