One of my newest litte ideas. Resin night light. Can be made with any design or image. This was first test print of the idea. It's a Phoenix bird. Printed using elegoo gray. Going to try with different color resin next.

This weeks lesson... the build place can twist slightly. This caused quite a few failed prints but by process of elimination I was able to work out the cause.

The symptom was prints adhering on one side of the build plate but not the other.

So first I turned the resin VAT around to make sure it wasn’t an issue with that after recently changing the FEP. No effect. Models still printed at the back.

Next I strained the resin out just to make sure. No effect.

Finally I re-levelled the build plate which was when I noticed it wasn’t quite aligned.

Now I find it best to quickly check it is aligned before each print and zero failures so far. I’m now attempting my biggest print yet... 6.5 hours ?

OMG this machine is amazing! Had to buy more resin as I keep running out!

My Viking Thor is finished. This design was one of the most detailed I’ve printed and worked on so far. Everything except the cape was printed in resin on my Anycubic Photon and Photon S. For the cape I used my Ender 3. Print / design comes in at 14” in height at 70% scale. When I get a larger resin printer I’ll definitely be re-printing this in 1/4 scale.

This file comes with some switch out options, two different heads, two different weapons and a shield arm. For my finishing I’m kept it “real world” and did lots of different shades of brown and black leather and iron detailing using tin, charcoal grey and bright silver.

I'm super excited to announce the launch date of my 3D printable minis Kickstarter, Creatures Of Cromsfall! The campaign will go live on the 11th Feb. There will be 3 core epic monsters to begin with and 9 stretch goal monsters that will (hopefully) unlock during the campaign.

Hi all! Any ideas on how to get the stitch detail to show up when I print my boot? The stitches show up in chitubox but never when I print.. the layer height is 0.025 and I put the exposure time down to 6 but still nothing... any help would be appreciated! custom_heroes is my insta ? thanks.

Hey there! I just bought a Photon S in November, but I don't foresee myself getting to use it for various reasons. I live in an apartment and should have done some more research into how much space and venting it would require. Plus, we'll be moving out of state within the next 6 months and I'd rather not risk it getting damaged. Im trying to do my first "large" print on an anycubic photon. Im not quite sure how many base layers to do, or how long I should be setting my exposure with anycubic clear resin. I want to print the mz4250 ice devil. I have all my supports placed and ive ran it through the photon file validator too. But I doubt that 6 base layers will be enough to hold this to my plate with it being almost 1700 layers. Are there any suggestions? Link for reference.

Just had an odd failure of sorts. Didn't take any pictures as I had popped home at lunch to check the printer and needed to get in and out quickly, so this might not get any traction. What seems to have occurred is that during the print, a thin film of resin cured/formed over the top of the vat. It must have formed during the print as it only affected the tallest part and only towards the last 1/4 of the print. My printer is in an ikea cabinet, and I've gone to some efforts to make it light proof. However, it is right next to a window and today it is very sunny. How intrusive is UV? Furthermore, does the printer's yellow windows discourage UV at all (it's in the closed ikea cabinet and the printer itself is closed, naturally)? At least that's the direction I'm trending, but maybe someone has seen similar and has a proper explanation? For this print (Anycubic Black) I was experimenting with reducing print time from 7.2s to 6.5 to see the results. So I set it up this morning before I left for work; total run time being about 4.5 hours.

It finally happened, my big first accident. I don't know if someone bumped my printer, I didn't tighten the build plate or both, but I found the print bed in the resin vat this morning. The fep is torn, and a good amount of resin spilled around the vat. I was able to salvage what resin I could, I cleaned everything up, and I don't know what to do next.

I left my printer out for a good week or two, and didn't notice it in the vat until recently. No one heard a loud sound, or see it fall, so I am unsure how recent this was. It is my fault and I probably should have moved it to my room or somewhere else sooner, but I was lazy and this is what happens.

What should my next course of action be? I don't know how to change fep on the vat, or if I should get a new one all together. I am at work, so I cannot check the screen is really banged up or what, but I while cleaning it felt smooth and not cracked, but I'm not sure.
