Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » 2.0

So I'm using the Photon Validator program to check my miniature before I start printing tomorrow and it's finding around 80 layers with islands. However, when I actually go in and inspect these layers, most of the islands appear to be extremely small. At what point do I need to be concerned about islands and what can be written off?

I have attached a few images of the model inside of ChiTuBox V1.2.0, as well as my current settings. Model is 5mm off the platform and tilted 40 degrees.

Thanks in advance for any information. Please let me know if I need to attach anything else!

The world's most janky UV curing box? Maybe.
But it works and I'll build a pretty one later.

Does anyone here have any tips or tricks I should know for version 2.0?

PRECISION...how to adjust it. I printed a little mechanical part standing upright with the Dia 6mm end about 6mm off the plate, in anycubic green....just a prototype to see how it worked. I found that the 12.00mm dim was about 12.30mm and 6.00mm was about 6.26mm. I reason that the edge of the part on any given layer is actually the centre of the extreme cured region, so it must always come out a bit bigger....it is unavoidable without some adjustment to the model. SO......as I was most interested in the 6mm diameter, I made a copy of the Solidworks model that had it's surfaces all offset 0.120mm inwards. Here are the results.....(settings: 0.04, 8, 3, 70,10)

So Garret Bertrand posted a link to a FormsLab in another thread.
https://support.formlabs.com/s/article/Model-Orientation…

It's a really interesting video about theory with tips on how to use the FormsLab printers, but at about 7:40 into the video, it said something absolutely shocking. It says that the machine is programmed to compress the initial layers to promote adhesion and that your print can come up a little short in the Z direction.

Does the Photon do that? I was just noticing yesterday that a gear I printed flat that was supposed to be 2.5 mm thick was only 2.0 mm thick. I added 0.5 mm to the model and it came out to 2.5 mm on the money. I've noticed small differences in height before and thought it was a scaling issue. I sometimes scale the Z axis by 2% to compensate, but if the Photon is actually eating 0.5 mm at the bottom of the print then that would be a revelation!

Hi guys,

Do you recommend 2.0 or 3.0 USB for loading your files to Photon? stock USB is trash...any recommended size? don´t know if printer may have problems with bigger ones (32/64gb).

It seems many of us have FDM printers to compliment our DLP. Tbis is mine, a little creation I call Horizon 2.0. Designed and built by me. It's a touch screen enabled dual Z, core XY, SSR powered heat bed good for 270c.

Show me yours.

Hi everyone,

Out of curiousity, what speed is the USB port on the Photon? I'm assuming 2.0?
