Looking for some help. I've been trying to find something like these to print, but am coming up short. Has anybody come across a printable version of these? Another style is in the comments as well. I'd like to query the hive mind if I may. Had the photo for 5 months now and aside from a few levelling issues it's been great run just over a litre through it now mostly printing miniatures. Now the problem arose after running it for a week churning out great prints and not having to relevel. Final print finished this morning so I powered the unit down and left it to drip dry after hitting ok. Just now removed the prints and refilled the vat and powered back up but no display GUI the backlight has come on and if you touch the screen where memory serves the buttons are Then it beeps bit after several power cycles with and without the drive it sits there with a blank white screen and no GUI.

Any advice before I have to drain down and start pulling it all to pieces? Thanks in advance.

The problem of reboot still happen... But the error it's very random, I made 3 printings succesfully with a Kingston 16gb ( the smaller I got) and again the machine stops at 6 layers. So I bought this extension usb cable and format the old USB but with fast format disabled and it seems to be working fine... I will upload the photos once this printing gets done. Finger crossed. ?

Anybody know if the Photon S can be stored and used in a bright room with a frosted glass roof? Does the room have to be fairly dark? Aounda like a dumb question, but I'm a noob to resin printing.

Every once in a while I'll come across a model like this, where there's lots of little tiny islands. My natural instinct would be to add supports, but there's just so many that it feels impractical and ultimately detrimental. I've printed things before that had similar patterns and it doesn't seem like anything has gone wrong, but I'm concerned that one of these days I'm going to crack the screen or something because an unsupported chunk stuck to the FEP and the print bed smashed it or something.

Are islands this small worth concerning myself with? Or can I just...kinda ignore them and assume everything will be good?

[FIXED!!!]

Hi guys.

I have a question about the ever-popular 'smart USB mod'.

When I upload files from the USB side I do not seem to be able to view them from across the network until I power cycle the device.
Is there a solution to this, I.E: getting the SMB server to update its contents while running rather than just at startup as it appears to be now?

SOLUTION:

In the USB_Share.py
You need to change the bit where it says something along the lines of 'piusb.bin' to 'photon.bin'.

I also had a hyphen instead of an underscore in the startup script section.

(Modified the value 30 to 5 to speed up the rate at which it checks if the files are steady too!)

Elegoo gray. Started getting a weird problem all of a sudden after a series of good prints. horizontal band across my prints (but not at the same layer?) all of these printed at once side by side flat on bed. Noticed I have some very small holes in the model as well near the band. Was about to look into it and figured I would ask the hive mind. Praise be!

Cross hatching on this print (best example is near the L in Larp). Its incredibly fine, only noticeable under strong light, and does not translate to the moulds I make. Its interesting as one line is the print orientation, but the other line is precisely 90 degrees to the print orientation.

I'm not really worried about it, however anyone have an idea what causes it? It'd be nice to know. I'm thinking maybe its something to do with the nature of the pixels on the LCD screen? (my LCD screen is in perfect condition, no dead pixels)

First, thanks for the add! Second, I’m either thinking of getting the Elegoo Mars or Anycubic Photon (or Photon S) as my first resin printer. I have a Creality CR-10s FDM already. Anyone have experience with both the Mars and Photon? What are the pros and cons of each. I realize this is a Photon group so answers may be a little biased ? .
