Anyone tried Photocentrics UV Laser Flexible resin on their Photons? I’ve gone and ordered the wrong bloody one! Was suppose to order the DLP version ? .

Had a google online and some websites say the laser version does work on the Photon but haven’t seen much else. I was planning to mix it with Anycubic Grey.

The DLP and Laser version descriptions both say 405nm but I don’t see much else that’s different apart from the name.

Hi everyone, I have a photon and works great, the 3d print seems a bit brittle, is there any resin that can be used on the photon that is stronger? Also I would like the finish to be Matte black (I would like to skip the painting) if there were such a thing. Any help will be appreciated. I know Formlab has engineering grade material but that is only laser compatible, so that's out.

After a lot of research, I noticed the EPAX X1, was down to $380. (with use of a $20 coupon on Amazon prime, free shipping). Compared to $280 for the photon, it seemed like a no-brainier. The thing I couldn't get over on the Photon, was the grub screw. As time goes by, they dig into the mating surface, and it's really hard to get them to do anything but follow the same position that they were in due to that indent.

I build my own FDM machines for production work becuase I can make them cheaper and better then a Prusa, but at this price point, you can't make a LCD machine. Same is true with a basic laser cutter. There a few open source laser engravers out there, but you can't build them better then a k40 for the price. Anyways, I'll stay subscribed to this page, but I just wanted to in a non "PC-vs-MAC" war sort of way give new buyers something to think about.

HI Folks.
Just received my Photon 'S'
When I went to the Photonics.org they specifically stated that they did not cater for the 'S' model.
Is there a group that handles the 'S".

I have enough 3D printer knowledge to read the standard documentation and understand where the differences between the two - however it be nice to find a group that can cater for the 'S' Mods.

Current workshop. Tevo Black Widow (Heavily modded), 8W Laser attachment (Specs tell me it's 16W but :) ), C-Beam CNC with 400W Spindle.

New oral scanner job with photon. The modell, what we plan with B4D and printed the photon printer, used own model resin . we ordered two separate bridge from the laser sinter center, the bridges position and cervical contact is perfect! The costumer technicians and the doctors is happy, I am too! Enjoy!

Hi all, thanks for having me. My name is Marc and i live in the Netherlands. I am a semi-professional movie/tv/game propmaker.

Last year i bought a lasercutter to make my work easier and always wanted my own 3D printer. After looking around, the Photon seemed like a good choice to start with, especially with a twin z-axis rail upgrade.

I just ordered my Photon this afternoon and should receive it in the coming week. Excited to start working with it.

Just tested orange glass of anycubic photon-s and 405nm laser pointer.

Yes, it does block quite significant part, but still i can see very well spot on wall thru this glass.

In the photo it can be seen much worse, but still visible.

Week end Project Curing Box … 1/4 " mdf cut with my co2 laser ,plexiglass mirror tinted window ,60W 6 led uv light and a 110v turntable … magnetic hold down for the door .. and aluminium foil inside spray glue with 3m super 77

I encountered an issue, seems that the resin gets trapped between the ribs and getting cured by the light bleed creating this artifact.
For comparison, print with Peopoly Moai, laser dies t have that issue. I double checked the photon file - it's not corrupted.

Love my Photons, but always thought about an SLA Laser, so I have been considering this printer, as it seems inexpensive for a laser SLA and they claim 3 times faster in printing than a Form 2?
