Hi to All!

I'm new here and I will ask a very common question, but from my search on the group I could not find a definitive answer.

I'm going to buy an LCD resin printer maybe even tomorrow, but I haven't decided which one yet.

I can buy the photon at about 190e but I've heard that the new photon nowadays have the same closed source board and firmware as the photon S. Is that true?

If it's true, then all tools that exists for the older photon will not work on the latest photon? So is it better to buy the photon S just for the refinements of Dual Z and UV lights?

I can get the photon at 190e, the photon S at about 250-260e. All the other printers will cost way more money because there are not available in European warehouses and will have more shipping costs and customs. For example For the EPAX X1 final cost will be more than 500e and elegoo more than 400e.

I believe for these price comparisons the only real choices are the new photon and the photon S. Do you think that is better to invest in more than double the price for an elegoo or EPAX?

I will use the printer for production and not only prototyping, so I'm towards the S because of the faster printing, but still I'm not sure..

PS. is there a way to retrofit UV lights from S to the regular photon?

Hi fellow Photonians!

I have finally bite the bullet and joined this big family about a week ago. I cant get the Photon to print anything besides the test cube. Most of the print got stuck on the FEP film but surprisingly the support seems to be printing fine. I am sure that i have managed to level the bed and check the uv light for any defect. What may seems to be the problem here?

So I'm at a loss with this frame shearing. I'm running 4.2.12 firmware, which I've since reflashed. I've checked the slice in chitubox and it seemed fine. Did the UV test on the screen and it's fine. Switched to a newly reformatted USB. Any ideas are appreciated!

Hi! I dont have my printer yet but I made myself a curing station inside of an IKEA shelf. I covered the inside with foil tape and mirrors with a UV light. What do you think? Will one light be enough or will I need to add more?

I had a photon for a bit! It was the best printer I’ve ever had

But I could never get the ventilation right for my work space..
I had the printer nodded with fans that were secured to the side where one of the UV protection windows were and all that.. while printing everything was great!

But the aftercare was when my whole house would begin to smell (my garage is under my house so lot of the vapor odor would rise through the stairs/floor)

I’m curious to see/hear what your post printing safety is!

Because I would really like to try again some day!

Finally got my DIY Ikea Kallax curing chamber finished. Cupboard door insert, bit of reflective film, a 405um UV lamp, gaffer tape and a turntable. Now to start on the fume extraction, may seem a bit overkill but I got it for a good price ??

Hi everyone, completely new to this. After waiting for a replacement UV light I'm finally able to use my 3D printer. I followed all the set up steps and started the initial test print. Any advice on where's I could have gone wrong here?

I took a nailstar UV lamp and turned it into this totally wicked curing chamber. It took almost a week to print it out and had to do a bit of remixing to get it right. I still missed a few openings for the wires but this was print for proof of concept and plan on remixing the whole thing to look like a Photon printer.
