Hey guys!

Just bought a photon today and was hoping to get a head start on some information I may need to know.

I currently do DLP printing for a living working for Envisiontec doing rapid prototyping, so Im more than familiar with properly setting up a machine as well as setting proper perimeters for resin exposure times.

So what are some things I need to know / do on day one? I ordered their grey resin for figurine models which is what I do a lot.

How is their software? I currently own a Peopoly Moai 130 and am extremely comfortable with their software as of right now and would love to continue using it unless Anycubics is better?

Also have been seeing some stuff about a z axis upgrade. Does anyone supply the full upgrade or do I need to buy the linear rails, back plate, and mount all separately? I have access to mills from my old job but hate going there lol

Hello Guys,

I’ve printed a couples of things with Monocure 3D rapid clear but every time, regardless of the setting, the object remais somehow “gummy” and soft compared to the standard anycubic resin.
Even after curing the situation remains the same.
Moreover the objects present very strong horizontal banding compared to the anycubic ones.

I thought that monocure would have been much better than anycubic but, so far, it seems to be the contrary for me...

Any advice?

(In the pic: clear—>monocure, pink—>anycubic clear + dye. Same object in both pics)

Getting good prints.

Temperature is key with monocure 3d grey rapid. 30 degree is a must with warm resin.

I use a heat pad inside to make warm. But I will be upgrading this soon to something better where i can adjust temps accordingly.

15 lift hight is a must so it can run propley.

My settings as shown in pics.

Took many weeks to find a good balance. Sucks being a trucker with little time of to experiment.

Finaly getting there.

Please feel free to share any advice.

Anyone use monoprice rapid red? No matter what settings I use, I cannot get a successful print. It will lay down the base and support, but that is it. Nothing is sticking to the support

Maybe a stupid question, but better safe that sorry...

Now that we have AA capability in the firmware, does that work with any slicer that does AA, like the Formware slicer, or does it require a specific slicer?

I still get impressed at times, by just how clear you can get with clear resin.
75/25 Monocure Rapid Clear and Flex.

So my first experiences with clear resin are that it really, really sucks?

Compared to black, which I've always used, my regular supporting tactics don't seem to work, and the amount of resin buildup from light-bleed through models is absolutely extreme.

I've exposure tested properly, and I'm confident with my leveling, slicing, etc. But I must be doing something wrong right??

I've been asked for my exposure settings: 100s base, 8s regular, on 0.025 layer height. It's Monocure Rapid Clear resin.

Help please, I still can not print with the white resin monoprice fast uv. I did the test and try with column 7 and 8 but without success. How can I discard the stl model? The truth is that I run out of ideas. The same model prints without problems with the green resin anycubic manufactured.

Ayuda por favor, aun no puedo imprimir con la resina blanca monoprice rápida uv. Hice el test e intente con la columna 7 y 8 pero sin exito. ¿Como puedo descartar el modelo stl?. La verdad se me acaban las ideas. El mismo modelo lo imprime sin problemas con la resina verde anycubic de fabrica.
