Hi everyone, as great as the Photon is I’m looking to get rid of mine I just don’t have enough projects that make use of the technology. FDM seems to meet most of my needs.

If I wanted to build an external enclosure (dust protection and smell extraction) out of perspex, what colour?!

I can print all the hinges and joints to build the enclosure on my FDM and order the perspex precut to assemble it.

Has anyone experimented with color changes mid print? On my FDM printer I would pause at certain layers and switch filament to get a multicolored object, has anyone tried it with resin? Or maybe someone have white resin they put drops of random colors in to get rainbow prints? Post a picture if you have. Thanks

Pretty stoked.. just setup my printer (took a DAY to get alcohol and a level, my desk is very uneven). The test cube print turned out pretty darned awesome.Having printed on FDM printers for four years.. this cube would have been nearly impossible.

I am now printing my D&D character from Hero Forge.. we will see if I messed up anything in the slicer.

may be i am wrong
could it be that all layer settings under 0.025 was made by guys comming from FDM printing?
0.05 is for 98 % the other 2% is 0.1 ;)

Best way to print something like this ? I'd ideally like to get as much onto the build plate as possible, so probably printing vertically, but i'm concerned the supports may not be enough to hold it to the plate mid print, i've tried printing direct on that plate, that worked but added some size distortion and would block some of the holes. Is best option to lift the model 5mm and then put a good amount of support below it ? (the model will be hollowed out).

Also, the resin is too brittle for the clips to work properly, they snap rather than bend like fdm abs would, would monocure flex be an option or should i just swap to using magnets and fix the pegs in.

This is slightly off to
pic but I have to say that the Anycubic build plate (ultrabase) is hands down the singnle best option for FDM build plates. It is part of the reason why I chose the photon.. I am so impressed with their build plate that I thought they seem to know what they are doing.. (I also spent TONS of time researching every other option as well)...

Thanks for the add. Just got my Photon for Christmas, my first DLP printer. I have a FDM printer also that I got about six months ago. So pretty knew all around to 3D printing in general.
