Yeah Baby! I just successfully printed the Calibration Matrix from the group's Files section. I used the green resin that came with my printer. WOW! Both of us are just amazed at the detail.

I now have the print under a 36 watt UV fingernail hardener light that has four bulbs. My question now is how long to let it harden?

What an awesome little printer and a terrific support group to boot!

OK, I have my new Photon powered up. I checked all of the parts within the package. I noticed that the instructions on page 8 say to loosen the screw in the front threaded hole of the platform. As best as I can tell, I am not able to loosen or tighten anything other than the red knob behind it. Does anyone know what metric size screw and type this is? I don't believe that there is one in there. I have a fairly well stocked hardware store locally that carries metric. I'm thinking that I need to make a run there.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

OK, my new Photon is unpacked and placed into its new home. I will do the hardware set up in the morning. For now, I'm playing with the slicing software. Interesting dilemna. When I open the Photon Cube sample .stl that came on the USB stick, I cannot see anything on the slicer grid.

As a control for testing, I created a simple hollow cube with .125" wall thickness and saved it as a .stl. This opened up on the grid as a very small blue dot. I selected it and zoomed it to 25.4mm thinking that would get me close to an actual inch.

Voila, it expanded to the proper size. Having been able to open my own file though, that makes me happy. Onward.

I'm still trying to open the Photon Cube sample file and have yet to succeed. Any ideas? I also downloaded it from the AnyCubic site to test with that. Still no go.

Mr. UPS just showed up with my Photon. Mono cure gun metal gray resin arrived yesterday. PhotoCentric 3D resin is two doors down at the post office. Starting the weekend off with a bang!

Is anyone using a 3D scanner or photogrammetry as part of their process to create print files? If so, what method, software, and equipment are you using?

Hi Everyone, I don't know if this has been covered yet as I scrolled down through the pages and have not found anything on this. That or I'm going blind. Anyway, what are you using to posture your prints? I have heard of UV finger nail curing ovens and cardboard boxes lined with aluminum foil and a UV lamp clipped to the side. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm assuming that timing would be dictated by the resin manufacturer of the particular resin that one is using. Clear as mud right?

Hi Everyone, I am very seriously looking at the Photon printer to add to our shop. Is there a list of tried and true resins that are acceptable for use with this printer?
