Hi my name is Bill and yes I have an addiction...

Isn't that how it goes? ;)
Well I am definitely a photonster and going to be pulling the trigger on a second Photon :) I was going to wait for the next gen and bigger build, but looks like from what they say it won't be until early 2019 for that one. Soooo.... I decided to get a second Photon and then the larger build next year. It's not like I won't be using them, probably all will be running at once!

Now... I DO want a good FDM printer, can anyone recommend one that prints relatively smooth prints and not the horrible layer lines I have seen?

Here's a shout out to Amy or anyone at Anycubic...

If you build a next gen printer along the lines of the Phrozen Make XL with the same build volume and beefed up z-axis like on that one, I will buy it! I'll buy it even at a comparable price to the Make XL. I don't expect something for free. That said, if you can beat their price even better, but this is something I would REALLY like to see you guys do and I would rather buy from Anycubic since I love the Photon and feel a loyalty to Anycubic.

Amy you said if enough people want something like this you guys will look into it... So guys... tell Amy and Anycubic if you would buy a next gen printer with a build volume of 19x12x20cm (that's cm NOT mm! or 7.5"x4.7"x7.9") with a dual z-axis stabilizing rod system and faster prints. I'd cough up $2grand in a heart beat! Let's show Anycubic 'if they build it, we will come(buy it)' :)

To Anycubic... I would say you have a market for this as well as some people seem to want a version with 4K resolution. I see no reason why a couple models with different options and features wouldn't do well. The Photon can be an entry level unit and from there have a couple more versions, one with higher resolution for those that need it, and one with a bigger build volume for those that want/need that. Also, I wouldn't mind being able to buy a spare build plate assembly that I can sand and use as a dedicated build plate for wax based cast-able resins. I do plan on having at least one more SLA type resin printer (probably more in the future). I personally though need something that can make bigger parts. Like I said, I know I for one will buy it if you build it :)

What's the average length of time people get out of their FEP before changing?

Well I will be going through severe withdraw for a few days lol

Prints are failing on a regular basis now so I decided to change my FEP but the replacement was damaged. I have to wait for the replacements I ordered to arrive next week... so no printing for up to a week! I print every day! What am I going to do???! :)

Ugh... a little grumpy...

I decided it's time to change my FEP... but I can't. The spare that came with the printer is damaged. I opened the package and there is a big gouge/hole in the spare.

How would I go about and who would I contact to take a printed part and make a metal cast of the part? I see some are doing jewelry, and this would be along the lines of that, I'm working on a Colibri Molectric 88 'style' lighter casing for my Golden Gun.

Which editing/build software can do auto centering for making a hole perfectly in the center of another cylinder? I have to custom build several parts and I need to make holes and or cut outs that are perfectly centered and aligned.

I seem to be having a problem lately that's been causing me to blow off prints. Before anyone jumps straight to 'sand the build plate', that's a last resort, especially when I never had any issues before. Right now I am having issues with parts adhering to the build plate- sometimes they will, sometimes they don't. These are parts I printed before with no supports and right on the plate. I can get them to print with supports, but when I change the orientation and add supports, the printed part is deformed slightly in some area. It is mainly on thin areas and at the end of the print.

To me something changed. I've been using my printer a lot, could the LCD or UV light be degrading on me? I don't want to resort sanding the plate because that is permanent and once done there is no going back. I'd rather find out why this is happening and try to fix that issue first before doing any sanding. Any ideas? I have to run to the store, later I'll try to get some pictures of what I am printing and where it is deformed.

Has anyone successfully done any 'print in place' parts? Such as gears, or threaded items, or hinges?

I'm looking for an stl file of exhaust side pipes and headers for a 1:24 scale car. I checked the usual sites and didn't find any, but figured I'd ask here :)

I'm going to do a custom diecast 1975 Corvette for my brother and make it look like the car he used to have. All I need are the headers and pipes.
