Seriously, I'm doing a test print with some new resin and now I am hearing a 'chirping'/squeel when the z-axis lifts the build plate. It's faint, but I hear it.

Okay... for those out there that ordered the Bucktown Polymer... HOW DO YOU OPEN THE CAN!!! I took the cap off and there is a metal cap inside that says 'cut here'.

Supports...

In a strange kind of way when I first started printing I got some strange sense of satisfaction removing the supports. That passed though! Now they are a pain. For the most part they come off pretty easy, but every now and then there is a couple supports that are so close to the object being printed they are fused to the object and impossible to get off. I wouldn't say it ruined the print, but it definitely added work from sanding and sometimes filling.

I'm still learning orientation and right now I use auto supports, which I think is my problem.

Well I blew out a print... my fault. Resin was running low and I thought I hit pause and I must have hit stop. first thing I noticed was the build plate went to the top and not just up enough to be out of the vat. I added resin and started printing. I noticed the build plate wasn't going into the vat and just moving up and down out of the resin... 10 hours of a 13 hour print blown!

My fault though not the printer. I think this BSG shuttle is a cursed print! The first print was also my mistake, I got the scale wrong. I'm just about out of the Wanhao 'urine clear', and waiting for my Monocure to arrive. I'll be trying the Bucktown later today.

pulled the trigger and ordered 5ltrs of Monocure Gunmetal Gray. That should last me about a month! :)

I know this isn't the Photon... does anyone know when the Anycubic Chiron will start selling? Second question...

For FDM printers... the one thing I don't like is the often very visible layer lines. Even with good printers that are dialed in they don't come anywhere near what a resin printer can do. So I had a thought/question... what if you used a brush to put a fine layer of resin on an FDM print and then UV cured it? Would that give it a smooth finish like our resin prints? Or would it mask the details.

From what I gather I have a first gen printer. It has the blue plexi.

I have to say so far it seems to be working fine and trust me, I an stress testing this thing! I do get some swirls and strange patterns at times but only for some prints... other print fine. I suspect it is either the file (which Flint did look at one of the files and said he saw some strange things going on) and for others I think it's probably the print orientation.

I can't feel any movement in my z-axis. How would I know for sure if I have the z-wobble issue?

I read that someone said ordering direct from Monocure only took 2-3 days for shipping to the US, is that true? As far as I know this stuff can't be shipped air, at least not in the States. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, if that's true that's great! Is it 2-3 days for delivery or 2-3 days processing after the order is placed?
