Wondering if there is a way to check if an stl will print before adding the supports & slicing.

Just had four copies of the same stl on my build plate along with 2 others and the four failed while the two printed. they 4 failed on the same spot (only the supports were printed) which makes me thing that the initial file wasn't printable..
The supports were the same settings on all models.

Any ideas?

update: tried again on the model that failed with heavier supports and it printed well
Thanks everyone :)

Latest print..the plague doctor (thingiverse model). Printed hollow, filled with sand and brush painted. Gifted to a friend for his collection.

So one thing leads to another and I now find myself looking at airbrush kits online. It never ends!

PS. Haven't painted with acrylics since I was 10! Very fun and frustrating with thin lines

combined two stls on meshmixer to create an angel cat statue. Hollowed and filled with sand to add weight.
Left one is primed and spray painted. Will see how well the paint holds outdoors.

latest print: a knife display stand with anycubic clear (which for some reason has a yellowish tint to it)
Model from thingiverse and hollowed in meshmixer.
Settings: 0.05 layer, 13 exposure, 60 base exp and 8 base layers.
Overall a great print (other than the pissy colour!) :p

for the resin masters:
which resin has the least shrinkage in your experience? Printing standalone pieces is great with anycubic green or clear, however when printing pieces that fit together (a box) I find that the lid does not fit inside the box as it should.
Any advice on which resin to go for?

update: warping issue solved by upping exposure to 12 after running xp resin test :)

Night print ends up with some warping at two parts with failed supports underneath them.
Supports were medium sliced at 0.05 - 10 - 1 - 50 - 8. Resin anycubic clear with a couple ml of leftover anycubic green.

I run the resin xp test afterwards and how you guys manage to take a photo of the results is beyond me! It looked like column 6 was the best though. Could that be the cause of the failed supports?

Good day everyone,
I have a question regarding after print filling of hollow models.
I would like to print a small statue for outdoors. The print will be hollow with an open bottom, but I would like it to be heavy enough so that it will not be knocked down by mild winds.
What would be the best product to fill it with? I am guessing something that will not emit heat while curing and thus risk deforming the whole model.
Any ideas?

Latest print with anycubic clear mixed with a bit of leftover green.
Original stl was solid but I wanted something with holes to hang things from so edited it voronoi style. I did not think of balance at the time (should have left the base solid) so I glued at the back a piece of the supports to keep from tipping

Definitely needs a primer to show all the details.
Printed hollow with anycubic green standard settings.

Overnight dragon print.. amazed at how nice it came out. Hollowed print with the last drops of the anycubic green that came with the printer.
Standard settings
