Other than the Formlabs software, are there any programs out there for resin printers that are designed to find the optimal angle for a model based on its geometry and minimising stresses on the FEP?

I'd love to see something that does a quick run through and adds supports to every area there may be a floating island, but also rotates to the optimal angle to ensure the lowest amount of pull force overall for a given model, as well as taking into account the stresses on portions of the model that have supports, and perhaps building stronger supports where pull force might cause deformation.

Anyone know if that exists or if any software maker is building something like it? 'Cause that would be gold.

Finally! As a musician, I really don't like to tune to a phone tuner. I prefer tuning by ear.

I submit to you the geekiest musical tool I've bought in a while: a 350 Hz custom FEP tuning fork!

Anyone printed with this resin?

(No... I'm not serious. What a mess this would make)

Couple of 36mm Daleks in Blu.

Working with those weapons (they print separately) is difficult even on FDM prints. On the Photon at these sizes... oof.

The model (from Thingiverse -- not mine) has attachment holes so you can push the arm/eye/weapon in later on (print in a different colour and makes it easier since they're fragile and break). I used a drop of Blu on a toothpick in each hole, put the appendage in, and then cured it with a small 100 mW UV laser pointer (405NM).

I'm THINKING (don't hate me) about possibly moving to an Laser SLA (moai) or, at the very least, an Epax. I've had my Photon since April and have printed on it seldom (I cut the end of my finger off, so I haven't been able to do much DLP printing, unfortunately, as I can't wear gloves atm). The machine's in pristine shape, though. Any idea what something like that would go for on eBay? Could I expect $350 from it? $300? Or is it just not worth bothering trying to sell used?

Does the Siraya Sculpt resin qualify as a slow curing resin? I ran the resin exposure tester, and it was only just beginning to get decent detail at about 20 seconds (end of the test run).

The settings in the spreadsheet are WAAAAAAAY different from mine (I tried them, and it was massively underexposed). Would that just be basic differences in printers? Or am I simply doing something very wrong?

In case anyone's interested, I just upped a resin curing chamber designed for the Deep Dream UV light strip on Amazon (it's meant to fit the whole strip semi-flush to the sides of the chamber).

It's my fancy upgrade to what I was using (the same UV strip taped on a translucent plastic takeout soup container).

There are two models -- one designed to have the strip inside the chamber, and one designed for printing in translucent filament and having the strip outside the chamber (in case you want to seal it and do water curing).

This will not print on an Anycubic Photon.

So... is it common practice to have to refill the resin tank halfway through a print? I'm pretty much out $40 in resin because twice now, there hasn't been enough to finish a print (and unlike FDM printers, there's no runout sensor, so it's just a complete waste).

If I put more resin in, it is too much and covers the ball joint.

So... is it normal to add mid-way?

I'm having issues right now where the prints are sticking to the bed, but the supports are snapping mid-way. Short of making my supports several millimeters thick, are there ways around this? These are not heavy items... they're basically small, hollow tubes...

So... I switched from the Anycubic green resin to the Elegoo grey (following the exposure settings in the spreadsheet), and now my prints don't stick to the bed at all, and only stick to the FEP. What sort of things should I try for debugging. Switching to the grey was the only change.
