So I printed this set last year when i first got my printer. I have learned so much since then. Biggest item is any cubic resin is very brittle.

What are these for? The purple ships remind me of War Planet toys I used to have as a kid and I love it

Well decreasing the bottom time to save time on a print doesn't always work......darn

好吧, 減少底部時間來節省列印時間並不總是奏效...... 可惡

So for larger prints in multiple pieces. Cure all the pieces then glue together. Or glue together then cure?

Cure then glue

John Tiyce-nelson
2020-03-30 09:02:47

Otherwise your joints won’t cure correctly

Jeremiah Chetwood
2020-03-30 09:06:24

Cure first

Philip J Newman
2020-03-30 09:07:45

Cure first then paint then glue

Alexander Bayerdorffer
2020-03-30 09:12:12

Cure then use resin to glue them together. Way better and smoother

Brendan Wood
2020-03-30 09:16:31

Cure then glue. If you work too much with the uncured model you will risk getting the residue everywhere and it will mar the surface with a small bit of rubbed off resin, which looks terrible.

Alvin Raditya
2020-03-30 10:00:33

Cure to fix dimension.
Use resin as glue.
You can buy cheap UV led lights that run off an AA Battery and cure the glue. It works if you want to sand the joints, having it also made from the same material

How often do you run the resin in your vat through a strainer? After every print? Every Failed Print? Every 3rd print? Never?

你多久用你的vat里的樹脂穿過一個束縛器? 每次列印之後? 每個失敗的列印? 每3個列印? 從來沒有?

If I have any suspicion that’s there’s chunks

Josh Tollison
2020-03-30 08:55:48

Every failed print or if I think something might have broken off in there. Otherwise, there is no need.

John Valdes

I only do it when I put it back in the bottle or maybe a fail

after every print.

Sometimes Ill gently run the spatula along the bottom to see if I can feel anything stuck to the fep. If not, I don't strain

Daniel Green
2020-03-30 13:41:04

i drain the vat after every print or else the complaints department goes into overdrive about the smell

Jacob Palmer
2020-03-30 15:19:43

Maybe after 10-15 prints. Or if it's a spectacular failure

Mi Ha
2020-03-30 15:23:11

There's really no reason to. If you suspect there are chunks of cured resin you can use the detection tool on 40-60s, then scoop the thin sheet of cured resin out and voila, you have no chunks left. I only do it if I'm changing the resin.

so I was very nervous to change my FEP because I accidentally put a big ugly crease in 2 spots on my stock fep. Got a 5 pack on amazon and just got the thing on in less than 10 minutes. It was so much easier than I expected lol.

所以我非常緊張地改變我的fep, 因為我不小心在我的股票fep上放了一個大醜陋的裂痕. 在亞馬遜得到了一個5包, 並在不到10分鐘內開始了這個東西. 這比我想象的簡單多了lol.

Yeah, it's pretty straight forward. Did you tune it?

Shaun Reno

I’ve got two I the mail. I put these big gross stretch marks in mine.

Tucker Adams
2020-03-30 08:23:33

can you define tuning it? I flicked it gently with my fingernail to hear the sound and it seems just like stock

John Chrapkowski
2020-03-30 08:23:47

Yeah. Super easy right? I’ve done it about 10 times now

Tucker Adams
2020-03-30 08:24:46

considering it needs to be so perfect and and wrinkle free, it's intimidating having never done it before. I saw in the video on the anycubic youtube page for replacing a fep that you want a bottle cap thats about 13mm, so I went around my place measuring bottle caps till I had one that size haha

John Chrapkowski
2020-03-30 08:26:22

Tucker Adams I did the same! Now make sure you don’t lose it lol

Tucker Adams
2020-03-30 08:26:42

its the cap to a gas x bottle haha, I am sure it'll be around indefinitely

Tim Moulton
2020-03-30 08:26:56

Tucker Adams if you want to get precise, you can use a guitar tuning app on your phone. I tune my to 340 hz.

https://www.amazon.com/....../ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin......

I haven't printed anything for 2 months, today I get a trouble to tight the bed of both sides. any ideas? I find a way to tight it with a plier but its really pain in the a..

Michael Lee
2020-03-30 07:56:23

Why do u need to tighten it so much? Handtight would do. The screw is the thing that holds the vat down. Not the silver thing.

Mike Fatchett
2020-03-30 07:57:08

That is not the bed That screw simply holds the vat in place.

Bao Huynh
2020-03-30 07:57:55

yes, i mean I can't tighten it all the way down, it stucks in the middle

Bao Huynh
2020-03-30 07:59:09

I can't tighten that screws by hand, thats why I have to use the wrench

Mike Fatchett
2020-03-30 07:59:59

Sounds like you cross threaded it somehow or some resin cured in the threads. Probably resin.

Michael Lee
2020-03-30 08:00:15

So the vat is still moving around after u screw it as much as u can?

Bao Huynh
2020-03-30 08:00:24

Mike Fatchett how can i clean the resin inside

Mike Fatchett
2020-03-30 08:01:07

if you can get the screw out you could put some IPA in there but empty the vat first and clean all the other resin out of it.

Calvin Damsted
2020-03-30 08:01:11

Give it two uhga uhgas

Bao Huynh
2020-03-30 08:01:41

Michael Lee right now I'm using wrench to tighten it down, the vat looks fine, not moving

Bao Huynh
2020-03-30 08:02:31

Mike Fatchett ok thanks

Bao Huynh
2020-03-30 08:02:49

huh

John Chrapkowski
2020-03-30 08:02:54

Clean the threads with Ipa (or your preferred cleaner. I bet resin got on them

Michael Lee
2020-03-30 08:03:02

As long as it isn't moving it's fine. I don't think mine goes all the way down either.

Chris Marshall
2020-03-30 08:36:18

Calvin Damsted
2020-03-30 08:42:42

Bao Huynh most likely you cross threaded it. You need a tap and die kit to fix the threads

Richard Humble
2020-03-30 17:56:38

You know the silver part doesn't move don't you? There will always be a gap.

Had a bad print tonight. As it was finishing I could see the UV light seemed to be messed up and so ran a test after cleaned up the resin tray. Indeed, the lamp was leaking light all around the rectangle and in random spots. This was strange because it was behaving normally right before the test. I powered the printer down, and restarted, ran the UV test again and things were back to normal. I have only had the printer a couple of weeks. Has anyone had this issue before? Is it normal for it to reset itself? Was this just a fluke?
