My printer will no longer turn on. I put the USB into the Photon to perform a firmware update and the machine did its standard beeps (3, 2, 2) and then restarted but immediately started beeping again and the last beep got longer. This repeated until the last beep was just continuous. Now the tactile screen won't turn on at all. Adaptor has green light when plugged in so that part is atleast getting power. And the red light behind the z-axis still turns on.

Can I go larger than .05 layer thickness? I have a larger print with minimal detail. Would changing it improve print time and do I need to up exposure time to cover the added thickness?

So after the Christmas break I decided to try out the Anycubic Photon again.

Yes, Bed was leveled.

Yes, Screens/FEP were clean

Yes, it is a new FEP - tuned to the right mhz

Yes, the firmware is upgraded

Yes, the model is tested (it's the anycubic cube)

No, Chitubox (insert the anti-flavor of the month software) is not involved.

Software-wise, the Model "printed". No model on the plate.

No, the plate isn't the issue (as a dozen other models worked on that plate).

I had about 1 week of good printing before prints started to incrementally fail (arms missing, etc).

Then prints would just stop after a given % completion.

Since October I've had maybe 20% successful prints; 40% partial prints, 40% complete failures.

Contacted Anycubic who had me update the firmware.

Now it won't print at all.

This is the current state of things. I understand a 3d printer enthusiast should expect some difficulty - but this is quickly becoming an endeavor that costs too much for too little return.

I see guys on here with rows of these things and singing their praises - and allegedly I'm one of the very rare people that have THIS much trouble.

I'm about to chuck this thing in the trash - are there any suggestions that may help beyond "hur dur level it/hur dur clean the screen again."??

Hey all, Im getting to the point now where i need a backup/another printer. My trusty photon v2 (i believe, yellow door) has been solid for 6 months now.

The time has come to get another but i don't want to the new 5.5 version due to the stl compatibility issues. i think using another brand printer will throw up issues for exposure times ect, the elegoo mars seems close, but i think the LED wattage is higher.

been on the look out for an older second hand one but they are selling for the same amount as a new one from anycubic direct.

any suggestions?

Hello hive mind. Stupid question just wandering when doing lithos, is there a need to alter the stl setting in litho maker or can they remain the same for both FDM/SLA. (The pocture to litho i mean, not the slicers)
