<--- Still a noob here, and I've searched the group for this question and found similar "is this normal" posts but not precisely.

Is it normal to have one good print then fail after fail (on the same model file) until you clean the FEP, the build build plate, filter the resin, and re-calibrate? Seems to me one should be able to do at least 4 or 5 prints before having to go through that process again.

The good thing is the repetition of that process is giving me lots of practice.

Thoughts? Thank you.

Artel W make some great supplimental resin miniatures for the WH40k game. The level of detail and precision are comparable with the products GW produces.
They have a couple of lines that they no longer produce.
Today they are giving the master STL files away' for free. The models are already broken into parts for printing.

Enjoy.

Right, my base is done and posted up on Thingiverse for those who care. Adjustable feet, connection for a 100mm hose to 55x110 square conduit and a lower profile than the De-Stinky-Nator.

Some more random Thingiverse prints to test the Photon and again I’m blown away!

Anycubic black, ambient temp appx 18C, 5 base layers, 50/8 seconds, .04mm rez.

I messed up the supports on the cataphractee shoulder pad but every failure is another lesson learnt right?

Also printing some King of Tokyo proxies and had a failed Godzilla... again just a case of poor use of supports as I learn about how much contact area and depth to use for different “surface burn area” sizes.

Essentially I’m trying to get away with thin supports with 0.1 depth and 0.2 contact areas to minimise cleaning and then using 0.5d and 1.0c for the main load bearing supports. It’s the load bearing supports I need to add more of to counter the suction in the failed areas. The trick I’m finding is putting them in places that aren’t really seen on the model.

First attempt at printing came out so much better than I had expected. But still a bit of work to do around the supports and after print routine.

So hyped to try more and more things the next few days.

Quick question...... do people tend to stick to printing minis and small items or have people had much joy with printing larger models in pieces and then sticking together ? I've been toying with getting some of the high quality 3d stl files from gambody......
