Hi Guys, this is going to be interesting.

So as you know I design a lot of scale parts for my RC helis - this means parts are exposed to vibration, elements, wind - the works.
So far for the small scale fittings I was doing prints on Anycubic Photon (Ameralabs and Siraya resins) and if something had more curviture or was bigger - Peopoly Moai.
FDM was used only for big parts. Now after finishing building my e3d tool changer I decided to optimized my Prusa MK3S for fine detail printing
- prints with ASA
- layer height of 0.05mm (most of my photon prints i do at 0.04 or 0.05)
- 0.15mm nozzle (so twice the diameter of Peopoly Moai laser, photon res is 0.047 by 0.047 but obviously this means aliasing)

I wanted to see how much detail I can get
And I do have to say - to a naked eye there is no loss of fidelity, even under a microscope the difference in detail is managable.

Prints have to be done with ABS or ASA (petg or pla may clog)
Benefits
- parts are lighter, the wire cutter on fdm was 3g vs 8g resin (ASA density is 1.09g/cm3 vs resin that is on 1.35,also can do very thing permiters i.e 0.45mm)
- parts are stronger

Drawback
- marginal loss of fidelity
- print times on average 3x of how long it would tool on photon with 12s exposure.

Oh, acetone smoothing on more organic parts - wow!

Hey guys, so good and bad news. Bad news is im in dire need of some money due to a fire that burned me out of my home, and everyone is fine and safe. BUT Good news Im selling a bunch of my 3D printing stuff. Ive got a Anycubic photon with a 2-3 bottles of resin and cleaning material. And few parts and tools as well as a black light i use to cure and a ultrasonic cleaner. And i think more too but im trying to remember what is all there without actually seeing it. Its currently in my storage, and dont have it right in front of me.

Ive also got a Rostock Max V3 with a bunch of add on's (e3d hotend, 0.8 stepper motors, bmg extruder, some 20 nozzles varying from sizes groups of like 2-3) and lots of parts (wire, tubing, glass bed, arms, hot end, sensors, stepper motors, a magnetic removeable heating bed and more) and few open and unopened spools. And i believe more, but Im trying to remember what it all has, it has been in storage for a few months

So after you've read this whole book of information, im wanting to sell everything for $1700, negotiable. I live in the Seattle Washington area if anyone is interested. please dont hesitate to message me questions. Hey all, I'm printing with Monocure3D rapid grey resin and I'm curing them outside in the sun (Australia). I'm finding I'm getting a green mottling to the colour afterwards. I'm guessing it's because they where out too long. Half where out for about 30 mins and the rest about 10. So should it be a much shorter amount of time or is it just normal? Anyways, happy to hear your advice, any one from Oz doing this as well? Thanx all. (lol, sorry about he pic, best of 5 right there).

So Ive owned 3 other resin printers before (Muve3d, Form1 and Form 2) and now this. This is the first one that I havent been able to get working right (easily) I have leveled the bed, according to a few difference sources. Paper is difficult to pull out. Parts wont stick to the platform. I also sanded the platform a bit to help there too.

Ive tried leveling it very tight, and .1 mm up from tight.. no luck... any help would be lovely. thanks

I ordered a new direct drive hotend assembly (Hemera by E3D, formerly Hermes) that requires I 3d print a few brackets to attach it to my CR-10S printer.

I printed these parts on my photon, using Elegoo white resin. It includes the backplate, ezabl holder, and part fan duct.

What are your thoughts on if these will hold up or be okay?

It's much more purple in person - the camera likes blue I guess. And yes, there is a lot of other nerdy stuff in the house that one can see in these photos. Paint job coming soon.
