Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » resolution

I have a resin opacity question:

It seems to me that with opaque resins, the light should scatter more off of the dye particles, resulting in some surface roughness or fuzziness at the edges of the UV image (as seen through the resin). Does this result in a degradation of the prints' resolution? Do finer details appear on translucent resin prints more so than opaque ones? Does anyone have a link to an article that does a side-by-side?

Well my first attempt at a practical print didn't go as well as I hoped. Not sure how well it comes across but the flat bit at the bottom is meant to be gears. It's a replacement gear drive for the Nintendo 64 controllers.

I've got a pretty good idea about what went wrong though. It was either me putting more resin in on top of the older resin I used to print the formlabs test rook, which I didn't notice but seemed to have a film of cured resin along the bottom. Empty and clean the vat between every print, lesson learned. Or it was the fact that I printed them vertically, flat on the bed with no supports. I'm willing to bet it was a mix of the two.

Is there a best practice to printing small gears this size? I think the fifty micron layer height and screen resolution is fine, there seem to be a correct number of gear teeth and the sizing seems great compared to an actual gear, just a bunch of resin got cured between them by the looks of it.

It's a shame too because even with the resin being uncured it's sturdy enough to withstand the stresses put on it and a perfect fit for the joystick itself! Just 80% of the way there!

Has anyone noticed FEP sticking to the glass, and more of a thing - has anyone noticed print problems due to FEP sticking to the glass?

It's not resin. I have a lot of experience with resin printing am pretty familiar with resin leaking and sticking to LCDs. This is more like saran wrap sticking to a really clean flat surface.

I owned another printer with a very weak Z-axis, and basically what people found was that when you really *thoroughly* cleaned the surface of the FEP and LCD (no screen protector in this other printer!), the two would get stuck to each other. The LCD could then get damaged. Because the Z-axis was weak, as well, prints could fail because the Z-axis would skip steps.

The solution there was to either use tape to space the LCD or add a very thin layer of talc. I'm doing some fairly high resolution prints, though, so I don't want to risk all the extra stuff reducing my print resolution.

Hey all, please forgive such a rookie post, but Ive been struggling. Ive been doing several test prints trying to find the best settings and cant seem to figure this out. Im printing a fairly simple zombie head sculpt with the attached settings. There is plenty of surface detail in the sculpt, however the prints keep coming out as a softer version of the sculpt.

I am printing on the photon s with the anycubic 405 nm SLC grey printer resin.

Am I missing some key setting to get a higher resolution out of my printer? All other sculpts seem to be much high fidelity than what Im getting. Even my support structures seem a little soft (visually), not as hard edge as expected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

would replacing the 2k screen with a identical 4k screen work in adding even more detail ? I have a strong feeling that im not the first one who has thaught about this and 4knscreens are not much more expensive than 2k screens so why arent the resin printers equipped with 4k or even 8k screens ? i couldnt find a 4k resin printer and if resolution of the screen matters than it would be a logical quick cheap and simple upgrade to any of these maschines

Thank you for allowing me to join this group. I'm a railway modeller ( TT or 1:120 cale ) . I own a Prusa MK3 FDM printer for low resolution parts ( fences for example ) and have highly detailed parts printed ( engines and wagons bodies ) at Shapeways. But now, home resin printers are affordable and after reading 4 positive reviews I'm very interested in purchasing the Anycubic Photon .

I am wondering about the resolution of the XY plane on the Photon. When I am printing something that is parallel to the build plate I don't get the detail that I am expecting with the printer. I am using AnyCubic Grey. I am trying to replicate a Fusion Collider from 40k, the dimensions of the features in the areas circled in green are 0.8mm, red is 0.5mm and blue is 0.3mm but when it is printed most of the details are not being defined. I have posted my setting below and have a picture of my print and of the original that I would like to copy.

Hi everyone! Is there a resolution limit on the ChiTu Box software? I have been trying to load stl files with 100 micrometer features and they don't appear visible on the software and end up not printing. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I've tried to print this d20 dice and i had a issue with the supports, they merged together in a full resin block as you can see in the photo.
What could the cause be?
Printed on a photon S with anycubic red at 0.03mm resolution with this settings:
4sec base exp
80 sec base exp
8 base layer
