Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » IPA

Hey All, been having a few issues with Monocure Grey being overly brittle/soft (kind of hard to describe) when it is just out of the printer. While this is great for removing supports it tends to be problematic when fine details came appart when just rinsing in ipa. Settings are 8s exposure @0.03. Take note that once post cured the parts are just fine and no longer tacky as you may expect with a dud batch or resin.

I received my printer a couple of weeks ago and have completed a few prints. I purchases the eSun Water Washable resin with my printer thinking it would be a bit easier than dealing with IPA. I have seen a few posts about semi-safely disposing the water afterwards but was wondering if I could get some kind of consensus. I am planning to do the following: Place any resin contaminated water in a plastic container outside to evaporate. Once done, dispose of any of the remaining cured resin with my trash. Is that an okay approach or would anyone recommend something different? Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to print engineering parts. They print fine, but 9 times out of 10 they start warping as soon as they're off the plate.

Resin is Anycubic Clear, exposure 8.5 seconds on Photon S. Room has a stable temperature of about 25 degrees Celsius. Orientation/supporting/slicing done in Formware 3D. The model is hollowed out, wall thickness 2.5mm. Relief holes provided. New resin, I'm shaking the bottle vigorously before using it.

I've tried washing the prints with IPA and with Monocure Resinaway — no difference. Cured under the sunlight, under the nail lamp — no difference. Tried Anycubic Grey, it warps even more than the clear one. Tried keeping the supports as long as possible, and tried removing them straight away — no difference.

I'm really at my wit's end here. Would be very grateful for any ideas!

Mystery of the day. I have a file that I’ve successfully printed over 5 times back to back. The past two prints have been partial failures. You can see here part of it didn’t stick too well to the plate (one previous print of this file did this but I’ve also had prints since then that didn’t) and one guy failed to print from the knee up (never happened in any of the previous prints).

Nothing noticeable has changed. The ambient temperature has been plus minus two degrees between prints. Same type and bottle/batch of resin used between prints. Same slicing settings (0.04mm layers are 8 seconds exposure, eelegoo grey ABS like).

What could be going on? I’ve got less than 20 total prints on the Photon. The FEP has been cleaned with IPA and buffed with a microfiber cloth whenever I empty the vat or recover from a partial failure.

Regarding filtering IPA, I’ve let my closed container sit for a few days on a window deal with some sun some cloud coverage. I’ve noticed next to no accumulation on the bottom of the container other than a slight sludge, very slight. I’ve used this container to filter 10-15 prints. Since I didn’t get much, is it just not dirty enough yet? It sure is cloudy.

Anyone have any suggestions on a sonic bath or curing station? Idk if I need either of them. I can use a bucket of IPA, and an UV light to finish. But want some helpful input

Finally dove into printing a more complex mini that I supported and overall I'm quite happy with the print. One thing I noticed however was this arching between the supports on the base. I ran a search and it seems that it's likely over exposure, however a few people mentioned it could be temperature or anti-aliasing. The room is roughly 70F though.

Setting are

AnyCubic White

Layer Height: .05
Bottom layer count: 8
Exposure: 8s
Bottom Exposure: 80s
Anti-Aliasing is set to 2

The print was cleaned in IPA bath before final curing (clouds in AZ, now that's rare)

One thing to note is the gap between the lifted foot and leg closed off, leading me to believe it might be over exposure. Am I on the right track, would minimizing exposure time assist?

Edit....ooorrrr, could it be a lack of supports? Are the shearing forces pulling unevenly on the area?

So I have another noob question. Once a model has been printed, is there a set amount of time you should leave it on the build plate to allow the uncured resin to drain off, before washing it in IPA? My main fear is that if I leave it on for too long, things would start to sag (please keep in mind I have yet to print anything as I am still waiting for my order to arrive.....but I am impatient so wanna know NOW! hehe)
