Has anybody tried using Fibreglass resin pigments in UV curing resin? Might be a way to change the colour from print to print by only buying white resin.

Looking for a cool fire elemental and frost/ice/glass(?) Elemental for the D&D club I run in my school, kids were asking me if I could make one for them. Had a look on thingiverse but couldn't see anything on the frost/ice/glass side that looked the part

I've got three problems with my photon printer (I must add, it's an older version, with blue glasses). Slicer: chiTu box:
Dramatically long exposure times needed (I've tried 0,05mm layers) - for Monocure Rapid clear the results from the exposure tests were 50-60s, in comparison to 11-12s that is recommended by its users. That causes that most prints require over a day to print out, which is ridiculous ;/ Z-wobble (?) and squeezing the bottom parts of prints - the cube is like "cut" in the bottom, also when I add 5mm offset from buildplate for supports - its like 2-3mm high. Also prints has small "scars" on them in z-axis. Bad surfaces over the supports - especially with flat, big surfaces, it seems like the resin has trapped there on the top of the print, and hardened there during the whole printing process. Obviously it looks better for prints tilted by 45 degrees, but not perfectly at all.
The things I've already done: plastic cover for all the windows in photon plenty of re-levelling bed, trying to print with tight fit of piece of paper, and quite a loose fit checking it with dry runs - piece of paper moved easier after first few layers re-tightened z-rod cleaned the brass nut on the z-rod and changed the grease on the z-rod changed lifting distance to 40 mm and 60mm for the bottom - it hasn't seem to make any difference

Can i make someone happy with 2 perfectly working z-axis rails for the anycubic photon classic?

Since my upgrade of the twin rail Z-axis i have two of them laying around without any use.

There are some more cost effective (over the Simon Jackson Twinrail Z-axis) DIY upgrades possible (see upgrades Physanon or some on thinigiverse that require drilling the Z-axis)

I need to replace my LCD. I've seen differing answers about this one being compatible. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I just bought a photon and it came with what looked to be yellow stickers on the inside of the glass. I peeled it off and the glass is orange. Two questions: 1) was I supposed to peel the yellow off? It was already coming up slightly. 2) if I have the machine in a room with windows open letting sunlight in will the resin start to cure, or will the orange glass help prevent that? Thank you!

Hey guys, I notice on ebay some sellers are saying this is the new 2019 version of the Photon....is there any difference? or just sellers playing games?
I think i heard there was a version with different glass windows, but all I see are the yellow version.

I really like the Photon, but...

My LCD screen finally went, so I watched the videos, searched the group for posts, etc... and STILL managed to break the glass protector trying to get it off. And yes, I heated it before trying. The replacement from AliExpress won't get here until Nov 1.

EVERY LCD is going to have to be replaced. Why in bloody Hell would they put gunky double face tape under the protector that makes it difficult to remove?

Is there any backup method, like using a glass protector for a phone? I can't be without the printer for a month, so I'm about to order an Epax from Amazon. It'll be here tomorrow. I'll fix the Photon and give it to my son.

I guess I should have ordered a glass protector when I ordered the LCD to keep on hand .

So In replacing my LCD, during the removal process, only half of the LCD came off and now i cannot remove the other layer of the LCD from the glass. Does anyone know where i can purchase another glass so i can replace mine? i think it would be easier than ruining the glass i currently have.
