Hello everyone. This is my first test print. Is the knocking sound normal when the bed goes up? The bed is also moves slightly sideways. The knocking sound is not consistent. I am printing the cube from the usb stick.

Anyone know why as soon as I hit start on a print it immediately says "Printing Done"? I have replaced the USB stick with a known good one and resliced the file to make sure. I'm running 5.5 / 4.2.18 / F2.9.

For those asking about replacement USB sticks. I just got this and it worked with my photon straight out of the packet.

So this is what my Photon does.

For the brains trust, I have tried the following to fix it and nothing helps.

Checked LCD connection to motherboard.
Three different sets of firmware. (V4.2.18 currently installed as per advice)
Three different slicer programs.
Four different USB sticks.

I have submitted a support ticket with Anycubic and got sent a link to the bed levelling tutorial. (Handy. Thanks guys).

Has anyone encountered a machine doing this?

For the Photon S, with the latest firmware v 5.0.2, does the Photon S also print .photon files? Or is that applicable only to Photon machines?

After my firmware update, I can print .photons and .pws files but my Photon S freezes on the "PRINT" screen when a .photon file is loaded on the USB.

Any help/advice? Anycubic's customer service has been unhelpful with this.

So I got my photon... Plugged the USB drive into my computer and nothing. So I plugged it into the photon and turned it on. The screen flashed breifly followed by smoke coming from bottom...lol yikes!!!

Gah, brand new photon s unpacked. And setup but it won't Read the usb...

Checked cable. It won't show power to the usb, put the usb card direct into the slot, shows power but no files.

Any ideas? Writing ticked to anycubic atm.

I thought I'd pass along something strange. I have a 16GB USB drive that's been working perfectly for months. I added a model to it last week and it printed perfectly. I added a new one on Dec 31 and it would print the first layer, lock up then reboot. I deleted, re-sliced at different sizes, layer heights, etc. several times with the same result. Other files were still printing fine. I then noticed that this file pushed the total file size on the thumb drive to over 8GB. Thinking this might be an issue I deleted all but a couple small files and tried again with no success. I then printed the smallest file, 1/56 scale tools for tanks, and then printed the new model again. This time it worked. I have no idea what caused this so if anyone has an idea I'd love to hear it.

It did it again darn it this time it’s not fixing itself
The firmware is the latest I am going to attempt to check on the cable otherwise going to call them up tomorrow , turned off and on again no usb attached,it’s only 3 month old so still under warranty, any other suggestions ? Did this at the beginning of dec checked everything last time and it had fixed itself after I restarted it . Printed through out December no issues.

Update: It was leveling all along. I’m a bonehead, but At least I’ll own up to it!

My stuff simply isn’t printing today. There isn’t any polymerized resin in the bay or on the build plate, so it’s not leveling. It’s not the light source because the test shows the rectangle. What should I troubleshoot next? The USB? I should say, I’ve had the photon for 5 months with 0 issues...until now.
