Just discovered the photon resin calibration test doesnt work with the photon-s. None of the files show up on the usb. Anyone know of a workaround to get it to work on the s model?

Or am I stuck until the package is rebuilt for photon-s?

After 4 (failed) attampts with the green resin included with my printer I decided to try a different resin. Changed the exposuretime etc accordingly.
Finally my test cube completed!

In between the failed attampts I tried releveling builderplate, tuning my FEP, firmware upgrade, newly formated USB, cleaning everything but that did not matter.

Could it be that te bottle of green resin is 'bad'?
Excited I can move forward printing other objects now!

Going to run my very first print tomorrow. I ran a file search and YouTube scramble but I’d like the veterans opinions as well. I’m going to be printing 28mm miniatures.

Where can I find good settings for 28mm printing, and what kind of supports do you suggest if any? I see it looks fairly user friendly on YouTube videos.

Do you use the usb that came with the printer? I’m assuming it has the program I need to download to view my .stl before printing, but I also heard they can be corrupt files.

Do I need to clean my VAT out after every print if I plan running the printer constantly, or should I only make sure the build plate is clean and check for any debri in the vat. I’m assuming if I run it nonstop I can just keep the vat full and keep rolling until I get a fail.

I watched the flint read method of leveling, but it seems alittle more untrustworthy to me. Do you all level it like they say in the videos? Just the paper trick?

Also, any software I should download. I do not know what I need currently. I see people using chitsu box, etc. but I’m looking The most efficient method to get a good simple first print. I assume that the photon has its software on the usb.

Anything else you’d like to add I’d really appreciate it. Please no rude comments, I know we hate newcomer posts but reading and YouTube only do so much based on those people’s opinions. I’d like some more detailed feedback if you all would be that generous!

EDIT: FIXED. SEE BELOW.
I desperately need help. My brand new AnyCubic Photon (only 2 weeks old) worked great for a couple of prints. Now it prints between 1-2 layers (successfully, I might add) and then beeps and resets itself back to the main menu. No error message or anything else useful. So far, I have already tried:

*Rebooting

*Reformatting the USB

*Trying an entirely different 2.0 USB

*Updating the bios to v4.2.3

*Removing and reseating the LCD in case it was loose.

*Printing at different layer heights, including Photon files that have been confirmed to work previously.

The LCD is completely clean and free of resin. I replaced the FEP liner, which is also clean. No resin leaked or spilled anywhere into the internal mechanism. I am using brand new resin (shaken thoroughly before use), and the first layer prints are completely fine and sticking to the build plate. There's no resin chunks or anything else floating around in the resin indicating that it's encountered a blockage or is sticking to something it shouldn't. It just suddenly stopped working.

Is there anything else I can try (without randomly buying replacement parts for my brand new machine) or should I just box it back up and return it to Amazon to get my money back?

SOLUTION: Reset the z0. (Relevel everything with a piece of paper) Everything looked perfectly level, but apparently, that was the issue.

Hello guys! My Anycubic Photon arrived this monday, yeey. Sadly the test print failed, 3 times. I am using Anycubic Clear Resin, with the photon.photon file on the included USB stick. Between the attampts I've releveled the building plate, cleaned the vat + building plate. Also filtered my resin before re-using. I must admit I forgot to shake the resin bottle the first 2 attampts. Third attampt (this one) I shook it well.
The first few layers seem to be really nice, but later it seems like my printer just fiddles around.
Any ideas what I might do wrong?

Took these photos quickly before work, so had no time to clean it!

I bought a photonS few days ago, and I tried to test the LCD screen.
And didn’t appear the rectangular shape, as the instruction says.

I contacted to Anycubic customer service, and i did format the usb, and add new firmware, even though I didn’t get any better.

I looked at the Inside of the box, and I found that there’s a slit on the cable for LCD screen, probably this causes the problem?

Ok, i know it supposedly simple, but i can find nothing on it.

I should preface this with the fact that I have a moody toddler all day today so I have been fried, I promise, I am not always this dumb!

The darn print menu shows no files, tried 3 different usb drives<10 gb, (i got a few old ones) including their included one.

I did use the slice option to export a .photons file after hours of frustration. I figure mine might be busted.

Kinda sucks, been wanting to play with one of these for years now.

Anyone ever run into this? What did you do to fix it?

I thought Anycubic support was supposed to be decent. I submitted a ticket over the weekend and got an email back saying they got the ticket. Nothing since.

My problem is that the printer would just print a layer or two and reboot. I hooked the printer up to a UPS and have been unplugging the printer and waiting a few minutes before printing again. This seems to have worked.

I have noticed that the machine will not read my usb sticks they are 16gb fat32 formatted that work in everything else. The usb port on the photon seems really sloppy. It makes me wonder if there is a problem in the usb port that if the table is bumped or something that the usb stick is no longer making a good connection and faulting out?

Does anyone know how to contact AnyCubic to get reliable help?
