Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » USB

I had a weird bug today with my Photon-S. So I've started a print and after a first layer it just stopped printing, and the control screen was completely unresponsive. I turned it off with a switch, took out a build plate and realized I forgot to screw in the VAT ? Cleaned the build plate and VAT from a residue, started again and the same thing happened with now a secured VAT. Tried a dry run and it seemed to be printing, tried with a resin and it seems to be printing normally now. What could it be? USB stick or a photon issue?
Also, my settings are (if its at all relevant):
0.05
5 bottom@120sec
normal 4 sec@ 1 sec off time

Also, the first layer printed out and stuck to the buildplate like normal. And I am using a SanDisk usb stick not an included one.

Anyone able to help me diagnose this issue? After a successful print of the test cube that came on the USB I attempted 2 prints of my own but both of them were partial failures.

As you can see from the pictures the model is bent roughly in the middle. It was printed using the stock slicer settings, with underside of the tank facing the build plate at a 45° angle with light supports. I used the Anycubic green resin that came with the printer, although this model has has been primed.

Although my main issue is the bending, I'm also curious as to what could have caused scar, although I forgot to take a picture of it, there was a thin "sheet" on the print near the scar, I'm not sure if it was related to the scar or not.

I just updated firmware to 4.2.12 and started a print. As others have reported, wow the z-axis is sooo much quieter. I also believe the font that shows elapsed/remaining/total estimated print time is a lot smaller. or maybe there is less contrast? I have a lot of trouble reading that little guy now! Firmware devs, have mercy on the old folks please. ?

My method (do this at your own risk, I have not completed a successful print yet. Posting this hoping the experts will sanity check it):
1: Extract all files to the root of a known good USB stick.
2: Plug the stick in and power the machine up. I believe this flashes the update.LCD file.
3: Print the 1-fpga27_V22_101.bin file.
4: Print the 4-parameter.gcode file.
5: Home and re-level the build plate.
6: Profit!

Here is a link to the image for a PiZeroW WiFi Thumbdrive:

https://drive.google.com/…/1sh5zXyoxc1IQGEPHbKztDUQXd…/view…

Download and burn the image to an SD card. Minimum 4GB

Create wpa_supplicant.conf and ssh files on the boot partition. I do not *think* you can plug in a keyboard and monitor to run "sudo raspi-config" to enable WiFi or ssh as the USB port has been set to mass storage.

Find the Pi on your network, log in with putty or similar, run raspi-config to change user passwords from default, set the name of the Pi on the network, update if you want to.

This image only has a 512MB share to squeeze the image down to under 3gigs. If you need/want larger, run the following commands:

sudo rm /photon.bin

sudo dd bs=1M if=/dev/zero of=/photon.bin count=2048

(2G partition, 4096=4G, 8192=8G and so on) Make sure you leave room for the OS!

sudo mkdosfs /photon.bin -F 32 -I

sudo reboot now

Files are actually synced between a folder and a disc image, so you really need twice the space on your as you set photon.bin to be. You can find your free space by typing "df". Use less than half of what you have available.

That's it! You should be able to browse to the pi via network and upload/save files that your photon can use.

If anyone tries this please let me know success or failure.

I assume anyone attempting this already has some knowledge of writing image files to SD, configuring a Pi to run headless, and accessing the terminal headless, or at least can Google these things.

Quick question: I've been having issues where I start a print and the bed stops moving on the z-axis after a few layers. It prints fine up to a point and then just fails...

Does that sound like a USB issue or a buffer memory issue? Or could it be a slicing issue? I have been printing 3-5 28mm minis (all different STLs) to a build plate. I'm using the Photon slicer. Should I be doing something different?

Someone asked about Pi Zero W as a thumb drive a bit ago. Yup it works fine.

The zero was 5 bucks (Micro center had a sale, I bought all I could each time I went)
SD card was found in a change jar.
Less than a buck worth of resin? for the case.
The micro USB cable is probably the most expensive component.
I call it the poor mans wifi thumb drive.

Ran into a very bizarre issue today that I haven't seen before. (I'm not even sure what to Google for more information)

There are just visible plateaus of resin. The bottom of the model at one point simply didn't print or separated?

Resin: Anycubic Green

Things I've tried so far:
• Different exposure settings.
• Different USB sticks.
• Putting the file through an STL repair.

Other oddities:
• I've printed this model before from this exact file.
• Other models print fine.
• Started happening after replacing FEP.
• After replacing FEP, this model wouldn't print with regular exposure, had to up it from 10s to 12s or it would leave a single layer of hardened resin on the bed.
• Printer is not near UV light sources.
• Temperature is moderately controlled.

Hi all guys....i have an issue a can’t understand this morning:

I have my photon inside my warehouse, saturday and sunday i shutdown allthing.....

I start the printing (i slice a series of files all togetger thursday) and the printer don’t work,or better say:

It start printing (the layer count go on,but the layer preview didn’t show anything,it remain blue) and the builddplate remain stationary at layer 1.

I try to re-slice,copy it to another usb key but nothing change....the only way was to re-level the bed and reset the 0 layer height.

Is something dimilar happened to somone of you?

Thank you

How tight should the FEP be?

Since I replaced it I can't get any successful prints.

I followed the instructions perfectly, even put the bottle cap under the FEP before screwing it in place.

EDIT:
- FEP is tight like a drum
- Bottle cap was the correct size
- Protective layers are removed from the FEP

Issue seems to be one of the following:
- Bad STL file
- Slicing issue (Will re-slice and try again)
- Apparently the Photon USB is bad quality and can affect print quality (Will try another USB)

Hi, I have a Photon and it worked fine until the last print some days ago, now it freezes when connecting my USB stick that worked with the printer before, the printer sometimes makes a long beep sound. I formatted and double checked the USB drive without luck, I will, of course, try when I have the opportunity with another USB stick, maybe someone of you had the same issue and can help find a solution a bit easier. Thanks, ^^
