Hi everyone, I have a Photon S, and at the moment have only been printing with the clear red resin which came with the printer. The prints tend to end up over thickened, which i gather may be due to the light diffusing through the clear cured resin(?) my spec for the printer is a need for dimensional accuracy, I.e. Cad to printed part need to be as exact as possible, as the prints are for testing components (sorry I can’t reveal anymore than that). So can anyone recommend a suitable resin to use in the Photon S please?

apologies if this is a topic already well covered, but searching only seems to bring up ambiguous leads.

Hey Guys, maybe you can help me with my issue. I have printed several models, in several orientations. Everytime i have the same issue. The supported Parts (like the whole bottom of the model) has missing details and even supports look like they are melted together in some spots. The topside of the model looks great. I also tried different resins and different curing times. Will post some pictures of a model having those issues. Anybody an idea whats wrong?

Exposure time going from 0.05mm to 0.1mm with a cheap grey resin like Fast or Anycubic grey?

I usually am at 12s at 0.05 but would like to do some rough runs at 0.1. Printer is a Fauxton.

Hey guys finally got all my venting setup plate to where i think is good after alota YouTube lol
When i bought mine it came with white resin will i be able to just test it still with the anycubic cube on the usb or ?

I'm pretty happy with how this print is coming along, using Anycubic Skin. Had to set my base exposure to 115 sec to get things to adhere to the buildplate but haven't had any issues since then!

Is there any easier way to try and account for shrinkage in resin so I don't have to constantly sand the heck out of my models to fit together, or is sanding just inevitable?

A big ‘thank you’ to this group!
I’m fairly new to 3D printing, bought my Photon S last November and I’m having fun printing 40k minis. Been learning through lots of trial and error. Went thru a 1Lt. bottle of AnyCubic Macaroon Blue ECO resin. Unfortunately, my models have all suffered from over exposure because I read some bad information regarding the ECO resin and settings. I was lead to believe that I should be using 12sec exposure times at 0.02mm layers. My mini models were losing details like crazy and I was getting frustrated because I knew it could be better.

This group is helping my understand this machine better and I greatly appreciate the collective knowledge that everyone is willing to share.

I’ve been experimenting more lately with the AmeraLabs SLA tests. I think I’m getting closer to a good balance with the details.

Number one lesson y’all taught me so far:
“The print exposure is too damn high.” Lol

Hey everyone, I am having a sudden issue. So, I have been printing for a couple months now, with no real issues (outside of not enough supports and stuff on user error). Now, I'm trying to print a simple box. Each side is separate so i stacked them side by side, tilted them so i could put some supports to prop it up and help ensure that its a good print. However, its been 5 tires and they all fail. It prints the base of the supports, then starts to print the lower supports, and fails after a few layers into the actual print. I'm at a loss. I tried tilting, adding/sub supports, printing each side by itself, changed the resin, tested the UV light, re-leveled a few times and more. Its a little cold in the room, but still within range of the bottle recommendations. Any ideas?
