Question:

I have been printing with skin, translusent red and translucent green for a while, having no issues... Then i tried a completly clear resin...

"PrimaCreator Value DLP Resin Clear"

The miniature turned out perfect; no detail was lost and everything printed as expected.

BUT..

The supports under the base had merged into a solid piece (making the base a few mm higher..

So i was wondering: Which setting can i use to avoid this with a clear resin?

>> my common sense solution is to use heavy suppports for the base, lifting it higher to avoid the bug.. Or to just tip the model on its back (which i dont whant to do as it was modeled to print upright) but both these seems like a work-arounds and not a solution

Build plate not going up and down between layers...

I have re-sliced the file in anycubic slicer software and used two different thumb drives as well, but partway through the print it doesn't go up and down and just stays in the same spot... It's been at different layer heights so it's not consistent.

When I stop and ask it to go up it doesn't go up, but after I completely shut the machine off it will work as normal and will go up and down.

I'm thinking of updating the firmware, but not sure what else to try? It was working just fine on a different print the day before.

Okay fellow and sister resin heads I finally got a replacement cable for my touch screen but I've forgotten which way the cable faces and which socket in the face of the machine that goes into anyone ever replace this and anyone remember how it goes into the sockets I can't seem to find it in video or image is online.

After some advise or feedback regarding this print on the photon s. As you can see these are some lines in the competed piece, none of these are in the model itself. Would this be due to the supports? Setting? Machine? Just the best quality possible? I just find the inconsistency of the flaws weird and trying to get my head around in this learning phase. Settings were 0.04 layer and 8 seconds per layer. 5 x base layers at 80 seconds each

so my print failed and upon removing the vat I found this on my lcd:
its rock hard, tried scraping it off no success,
tried cleaning IPA no success
what to do and is my machine ruined?

I also filled my vat with water and put it on a paper towel to see if it leaks...

I use Chitubox on my laptops and have a hard time getting to the angle/view I want on the trackpad. All the tutorials I see make it look so easy to rotate and maneuver around to see the miniature from different angles. It's not too bad on my MacBook, but it's really frustrating on my Surface. Would it be easier with a mouse or are there settings I should play with?

I am experienced with FDM Printing, but not resin. So I have been watching this group, as well as the Epax X1 group for a couple of months, and am getting close to pulling the trigger on buying either a Photon, PhotonS or Epax X1.
So what would you guys have to say about the three different machines?
Times change quickly in this hobby, I know a couple of months ago the advice was to avoid the PhotonS for several reasons and buy the Photon instead.
In the Epax group, if I ask them, they all seem to be Epax evangelists, so I worry that the advice might be very objective, whereas in here, you all seem relatively level headed about your kit.
So what do you all think? If you could spend your money again, would it be a Photon, PhotonS or Epax X1?

macro shots of few jewelry try with anycubic green 0.02 layer 7.5 seconds exposure time , at 1:1 magnification the screen pixels are quite obvious , with my eyes cant see any pixels or layers

Live update from my workshop ? printed these parts on sunday (Bluecast x5). My Photon has apparently started to crap z-wobs on me and I have no time atm to fix it. I'll try to fix it later. Had to sand the prints quite a bit, but fortunately, you can do miracles once its cast. So, got this set cast this morning: sugar shovel and a gardening rake. 925-sterling. Shovel got a lot of love: filing, sanding and silicon wheels and it's now ready to be soldered. That's next, soldering the parts together.

Workshop news: my husband received a sticker machine. There's now a sticker on every available item in this household...I even got my own: "Julestools". Asked if he meant My tools or christmas poo? He grinned and left. Another unsolved mystery.
