PSA to all photon owners: Chainmail is addictive as hell...

EDIT: Wow, thanks for all the comments folks. Provided the requisite swift kick up the butt to actually get the two in the photos onto thingiverse:
Pentagons is https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3453931
Triangles is https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3453945

Once you've started playing around with it, it's less than an hour to do NASA-style mail in Fusion360, and under an hour to print. I may have a small problem here.

To forestall the inevitable questions, no I haven't posted the STLs yet. They'll go up on my thingiverse when I can be bothered. In the meantime, here's a more traditional mail I built as one of my first self-designed things for the photon: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3252989

I tried to print this, When the print was complete nothing was on the print bed. I had this along with another print last night and that print came out fine.
The model is a mesh that was imported into fusion 360 and exported as an stl file.

1/24 scale trailer hitch for a Revell 99 Chevy Silverado. ...designed in fusion 360 and printed on my printer at .03mm layer height. I haven’t done any cleanup on this yet. It won’t need much!! Nerf bars are next.

I redid this in Fusion 360 and now it works with both types of hour meters. How can you guys live without an hour meter? When your LCD dies you won't know how many hours of printing it took:

Latest successful prints - Replacement darts for the shoulder-mounted rocket launchers on a giant batman robot toy. Not mine, thankfully. The thing's as tall as my three-year-old.

Only took me about 20 minutes to get the basic form of the dart modelled in Fusion360. I then spent over 3 hours fiddling around trying different head designs......

Printed off four options to test-fit. As long as they work, next batch will be as many as I can fit on the build plate.

I suspect the Monocure Rapid Blue that I've used will be a little too brittle to work well. Maybe this is the excuse I've been looking for to buy some Flex that I can throw into the mix.

SOS

I'm a newbie to 3D printing so I don't know how to describe the problem I am having. I got my printer in December and my first several prints turned out well. Some layer lines which I thought at the time were normal but now am not sure about. About 4 weeks ago through I ended up with a big problem.

I am getting strips of resin running through my prints, I also always end up with extra hardened resin on the bottom of my vat. for the life of me I can not figure out why.

Here are the things I've done so far to try and fix this.
1) I use the guide here for my resin times https://docs.google.com/…/1crvzMnt_8NJXAsABinoIhcOjE8…/edit…
2) I have further increased the exposure times to make sure no bits are flaking off
3) used 2 different USB sticks
4) I have reformatted both USB sticks
5) I have run a 3 minute LCD exposure test without seeing any flickering
6) I have tried 6 different prints
7) From 4 different sources (Tinkercad, HeroForge, Thingiverse, Fusion 360)
8) Using 4 different Anycubic brand resins (Grey, Skin, Orange, Yello)
9) I have used 2 different slicers (any cubic stock and Chitubox)
10) I have releveled the thing more times than I can count
11) I have cleaned the vat multiple times
12) I have replaced the FEP Film
13) I have checked all of the internal connectors to make sure they are secure
14) I have posted on Reddit and another facebook forum an been told that it might be my UV lamp but all the testing that I've done following their instructions my printer has passed with no issue.
15) I have been told I should watch my prints but I can't see them since the build plate is in the way.
16) I have printed them 90 degrees vertically and 45 degree tilt same situation both times. I have not been able to successfully do a 90 degree horizontal print as the dials always fall of o their supports even when i add about double the auto generated supports.

Support is out for New Years and I am at a total loss for how to do things any better than I am. The prints I'm attaching photos of are not complex prints they are essentially 3 cylinders.

Help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Folks,

Got a couple of more general questions I reckon y'all may be able to help with.

I'm an Engineer, so all my experience designing stuff has been using tools like Fusion360 to do precisely dimensioned and fairly regular parts. I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how to go about taking, for example, a Green Lantern (the actual light, not the character) model from Thingiverse, and trying to mod it to turn it into a little necklace charm for my wife. (Add a little loop at the top that's meaty enough to do the job, maybe tweak some of the curves, that sort of thing)

In my current workflow for stuff I design, I use Meshmixer, but only for hollowing and venting. I've had a look at meshmixer's mesh editing tools, and have only managed to destroy perfectly good models, I've never managed to actually make something nice.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial/starting point for someone who's never worked with manipulating meshes before?

Second question, is there anyone Sydney-based who does casting and would be willing to talk about casting a little figurine as a gift for a mate? It's the mascot of a game he made, it's done quite well and I was looking at getting him a gift made. I've been playing around with prints in resin, but I don't have any gear to do casting myself, and I'd like to look at getting it done in either Stirling Silver, or maybe 18K gold. PM me and we can chat, I can send through some of the STLs I've pulled from the game.

Cheers in advance folks!

Hi guys, I need your help. What is the reason for this disaster? It does it on exactly the same layers every time. Can it be from a wrong way to create holes and pipes in Fusion360? There are no show of failures in Meshmixer, and STL files is also okay. Has any one knowledge how to avoid this?

Hey guys, I know there are some pretty sick 3D designers in this group and I was after some advice.
My friends recently got engaged and I wanted to print them a pendant each, but I thought if I could somehow incorporate a lithophane into the internal walls of the pendant that would be really cool... any thoughts of how I might go about this? (I have a decent amount of experience with fusion360, as well as a little with meshmixer)
TIA
