Iv read all the suggestions Iv found here, but I'm still having an issue getting new USB sticks to work on my printer. I'm only a few days old at 3D printing. So a complete noob here.

As of right now my original USB stick still works on my Photon S. I'v printed about four batches of stuff with success. On my 5th batch now, using the original stick.

I'm trying to set up a few other sticks for when the original goes down. I have an 8GB PNY, and a 32GB PNY. Both formatted FAT32. Both 2.0. I use Chitu for everything right now, and everything works fine using the original stick. If I use any of the new ones the printer won't show the files. Other than making sure they are formatted right is there something else I'm suppose to do for them to work?

Ok so I finally got to use my sonic mini today and did 2 prints just fine. Then printed some other stuff to compare to prints from the photon s I have. I love it since it’s so much faster.

However, somehow resin splashed on the case/lid, has 2 small cracks on the case/lid, and the vat is cracked in a few places. I did a quick google search for a metal vat replacement. No luck.

I was seriously ready to return the photon to Amazon I have 5 days left and then I was going to buy another sonic.

Any suggestions to remedy this? I really want this one. But I print constantly and can’t replace plastic vats every day.

EDIT: haha I’m stupid that wasn’t splashed resin it dawned on me last night taking the lid off how the resin got there. I set it upside down and there was a bit of resin on the rim from refilling the vat during a print.
The company stated where the cracks are us due to the screws and their injection molding. Some other explanations about the cracks also which totally makes sense to me. I did order the metal vat from their website it was just over 52.00 with shipping in USD. I’ll make a new post regarding the company here gouging people.

Last advices before I open a ticket.
I got a new photon and wasnt able to print anything with it. It does the weirdest of thing.

It runs any files without problem. Which is good...as long as I dont have resin in the vat.

If there is resin in the vat, it will do layer one, raise the bed, place the bed in position to start layer 2.
Then reboot (shutdown, restart) to homepage, and forgot it ever started printing. Power supply stay ON the whole time.

I tryed 3 USB stick, 2 are 3.0, one is 2.0, 3 files containing the test cube, loaded 3 times from anycubic website. Got only one file on each drive. Already upgraded to firmware 4.2.18
This error doesnt seem very common, and the FAQ has limited instructions regarding this problem. I'm at a lost here ?

Hello, Another newbie to 3d printing here and having trouble finding understandable direction on a question. I got a Photon for Christmas and haven't printed the sample file yet. I've discovered (by reading on this site) that I do have a "fauxton" which shows firmware ver3.4.1. So , I'm hoping the file on the flashdrive which came with it will print out ok? The file is PHOTON.pws and also has slicing software ver 2.0.23. I guess my main question would be to know if I'll need to update the firmware to a newer version. Many searches here and elsewhere on the net have basically confused me on this. I will try soon to do the test print off of the flash drive and see how it works out. thanks ?

OK, problems continuing. About to print a 40k Tank, and the photon screen for the Tank File is rainbowish... Hard to describe. I'll snap a pic if it happens again. But once I select the file, the main file screen comes up, and looks alright. I select print, and the plate lowers as normal, and goes into the VAT a couple times as normal. There's a prolonged beep (abnormally long), and then the entire unit shuts off, and back on. Its on the startup screen.. I remove the USB and take it to my PC for inspection. The "Archive" folder looks like "Wingdings" all corrupted, and it's acting weird. Is MY USB Bad? I'm trying to find another 2.0 USB to reformat. Do I do that on the machine itself?

My rayla sculpt finished printing. Using roughly a 25/75 mix tenacious and ac black. Printed at .03 expose time 12 sec base expose 90 sec. Hollowed out with dig hole to drain excess resin. 19 hour print time. Have an issue where the supports for the two front bangs just stopped. But I kinda dig how this one looks. Still need to finish removing supports and do curing. Version 2.0 is definitely getting keyed. So it will be two pieces, instead of one.

About a week or so ago I had posted my original version of the rayla bust I was designing for printing. I am proud to say that version 2.0 is coming along nicely. Still have plenty of details I need to add to the clothing. As well as completing the new arms. Would like to hear your thoughts. Will be printing on my photon once it's ready.

Hi guys!! I have just start using the Photon S but i cannot print anything successfully. The first i think because the support wrong ( i use Chitubox to help the support and Photon Workshop 2.0.2 Basic editor to slice) but when i use the fine SLT , i still fail. The problem: weird bars did not appear in file ( bird model ) some holes and wrong layers ? ( goku pant) anycubic test file ( i dont know what was happened) This is the result and my setting. Seen this problem? The bottom should be flat but there's a bunch of glitches - the ones outside the main circles and support bases go right up through the model making vertical beams. This is being produced by a model in both Photon Workbench versions 2.0.23 and 2.1.20 - very weird

What is the difference between Elegoo and Elegoo ABS like resin. Amazon has it as about $2.00 difference in total price for 500ml bottles ($17.99 versus $19.99). Thought about buying red transparent. They don’t list Grey ABS, but standard grey. Also, what is the odor like with the Elegoo resin? Thanks in advance for any information.
