saw a print this week, cannot find the post in any of the 3dprinting groups, guy took a dog head model, subtracted that from a block, 3d printed the block with what I think was transparent resin, and had the effect of a laser etched crystal, as he turned the block the dog seemed to look at you form any angle you turned it, and from the back there was a cavity where the head was subtracted from the block. I cannot find out what this is called, how to do it etc, despite google searches and looking through all my groups. can anyone help?

So how do you guys go about deciding on exposure time for lesser layers? Say i want to drop from .050 to .020, the settings on the google doc for the resins i have seem to only be for .050. Using Elegoo 3d rapid gray and have a tad bit of anycubic green left.

I've been playing around with my photon for a week now. After a couple of fdm printers this has been the easiest setup I've experienced. After the supplied anycubic green resin I would like to start with some ftd deep black. Ive downloaded the resin-xp-finder and ran the 50 micron test. I've added the result. In the resin settings google doc there are 2 entries stating 11 and 17 seconds. What layer exposure time would you choose?

So Castable resins, which is the best and why?

Currently I’m printing in normal material and casting in silicon to get a wax part to attach to the main sprue, would like to cut out the middle man. (Silicon)

Please only comment if you have personally used it all the way through pour, after burnout.. I don’t need google Education, I need hands on experience. Thanks.

Getting super frustrated by this. Gone through ~250ml and really only have one print I can say was good. Any ideas? I'm using Anycubic Translucent Green. I'm using the settings from the Google doc for, but I have supports that crash, or models that never stick to the plate? Not sure what all the white stuff on the prints are after I clean them? I'm assuming its the IPA (91%). I did the Flint Read method which at least got them to sorta stick to the plate. I printed the sample files and you can see it broke apart, sections where stuck to the bottom of the vat.

Soooooo, hey all.

I got my new Photon S delivered... kind of. It was delivered internationally and the shipping company opened it and removed the standard issue green resin. Ironically I had two other packages of just pure resin, and they came through fine... sooo... yeah.

Anyway, right now I'm attempting my first print of the faithful old matrix grid cubey thing (although I'm having to do it in Anycubic white resin).

So, right out of the gate I'm in the "What settings to use?" playground.

My actual question:

I see the really super awesome "Anycubic Photon Best Resin Settings" Google doc that a lot of people seem to participate in... but I'm wondering how much of that data transfers to the "S" version instead of the normal Photon?

I read that the light is more powerful on the S? Is it notably stronger and I should adjust suggested exposure times down some?

Thanks in advance for the advice :)

Any suggestions for getting rid of the layer lines? The sphere is about 6cm in diameter, so shouldn’t be too small, I used Nova3D clear resin with a layer height of .04 (using all the settings suggested on the Google resin ref doc). You can see the amount of tilt I used, I picked that angle specifically so the main window would be at the very top, thus the final layers be less obvious. The anti-aliasing is turned on and latest firmware installed on the printer.

The front looks great, the lines really only appear on the back half closest to the build plate.

Question about Elegoo resin and exposure times........

The resin on the bottle says "Standard", but the title in Amazon says "Rapid".

In the google docs spreadsheet, there are multiple options for Elegoo Grey "Rapid" and one for Elegoo Grey "Standard" but the exposure times differ.

Which one from the spreadsheet would match up with this Elegoo Grey from Amazon?
