Today's tip: When taking a screen shot of one of your resin profiles in Chitu, make sure to change it *back* to the profile for the material that's *actually* in your vat before slicing and starting a new print job. ? ? ?

Absent-minded me has done it with my filament machines too, like trying to extrude PETG at PLA temps. That's also somewhat... prone to failure. :)

Okay photonsters, I need your help.

I've been trying to get the settings for Monocure grey dialled in, but I always get really bad z-bleed.

I've tried 50um layers with normal exposures from 10s down to 6s, but always get bleed. Reducing to 7s improved it slightly, but 6s made the print too weak to really come out properly.

I've tried different orientations and always get z-bleed melting away my detail on one side.

I've tried monocure white and blue - same thing. It wasn't nearly as bad with the original sample bottle of anycubic green, but I bought a 5-pack of monocure and really want to make this resin work.

Any tips for reducing z-bleed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

p.s. yes, I shook my resin :P And it's not lack of washing. The most recent models were rinsed in IPA then resinaway, then finished off with a water wash in an ultrasonic.

Alright, my turn for "is it z-wobble?"! I've noticed minor issues on the faces of most prints since I opened the thing and finally did the not-a-cube test. Some of the lines look pretty consistent, others do not. Even along the lines, there are pretty big curves.

I've ruled out exposure, as I've tested multiple resins and a variety of exposure times.

I got halfway through checking for z-wobble anyway, but when I test it against the rail without the blue half attached, I'm not getting any wiggle at all. I *am* noticing it catch a little once or twice as I move it along the axis.

Here's the fun bit - the screw on the middle bumper came entirely stripped! Any suggestions for how to loosen it? I'd rather not have to wait for replacement parts.

I have a question about post-processing. I want to do a print of about 8 minis at once, but I find I am pretty slow to cut everything off before getting it under the UV. Here is my process on my single prints: Print -> Put in Isopropyl Alcohol Bath and rub off extra resin until it is not slimy feeling -> cut off supports -> UV light.

If I do it with 8 minis then I am thinking I should just leave the ones I am not working with in the IPA bath until I am ready to cut off the supports? Does anyone print multiple items at a time and if so what is your process to make sure things still come out great?

Thanks in advance!

Hey sorry to disturb but i got a weird situation from my new PhotonS printer. The print failed and there a bunch of weird lines on the platform an vat i did a test run and it seems that the LCD is showing very thin lines across the middle in addition to the normal slices.... Any tips . The photons is just like 3 months old... Thanks in advance.

Hey Everyone, so I'm having some more print failures that I don't really understand, I just printed some beautiful minis and then went to print the bases for them, and for whatever reason the base keeps falling off the plate partway through the print, any tips?

My smallest individual part yet - crank sensor ? That tip is 0.14mm. Only a test fit, so there is a tiny bit of support to sand off....

Hey uhhh photon newbie here, does anyone seem to understand why this failed? This was the test print on the flash drive included with the photon S. It looks like it was printing fine for a bit then the side just snapped off and it ended up getting squished in between the print and the fep.

- I know the white residue is from not letting the alcohol completely evaporate. -

I assume the print would fail earlier if the buildplate was uneven right? Is this something that pertains to exposure time? I’m using the anycubic green that was included with the printer. Any tips appreciated, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you in advance!
