My Photon just started acting odd. It had three failed prints. The last one left nothing on the plate or in the vat. It also just flunked the exposure test with a week purple with two black bars across it. Is this a known issue or anything?

Hey, all! Newbie to resin printing, and I am not sure what is happening to my prints. It looks like a layer shift, but it’s not along the Z-axis, but along the x-axis. The .photon file doesn’t show this artifact occurring. It looks like it’s happening down the whole build plate across each model.

Am I doing anything wrong? Would changing settings fix/make this worse? Or do I just need to realize the model?

Thanks!

So, for the non technical people who are not smart enough to build a heater themselves, is this not a good solution?

It’s one of those car heater window defrost things for $10 on Ali. Does anyone see a serious downside here?

Hey everyone,

I know that this has probably been addressed multiple times in the past however I have gone through a ton of posts and have not found too many solutions.

As a recent development, my Photon has started curing a fairly thick sheet of resin in various places across my FEP.

This is not the first layer sticking to the FEP but rather excess resin curing around the models while they are being masked off.

These images were after a print (which succeeded). The parts were orientated around the corners of the bed so that I could see if I get this cured piece of resin in the middle of the FEP again - which I have.

For reference, my Photon is about 2 years old now.

This happens regardless of whichever well-shaken resin I am using.

Like I said, this is a recent development for the printer and I ma not entirely sure what is happening however I have a feeling that the LCD could be failing. Would this be a sign of this?

I used a sheet of paper to check for any light bleed and there doesn't seem to be any but I will rely on the those of you more skilled on this to let me know.

Some prints are coming out alright but others not because resin is getting stuck to this cured piece and causing failures.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR:
Lines on the top and bottom surface in x axis?

I am printing a 15mmx15mmx2mm flat piece that lays flat on the bed directly. For some reason, there is lines that run across the x axis on the top and bottom surface. Does anyone know why?

So here's something I've been wondering at for a little while. Most of us agree that we should keep the cross section to a minimum if possible to reduce suction on the FEP, either by changing the orientation or hollowing out.

But on those first few layers, when you have a large number of objects in which the supports and their bases cover most of the build plate, other than elephant's foot, what's the point of tilting a model back?

Seems like Printing a model flat on the build plate for a millimeter or two would have roughly the same effect as the support bases until the model starts to hollow out, ya?

Question to all the ChituBox heros:
I have 3 different stl's on my buildplate. Rotated and arranged. As you see in the image the printing space of all overlap and i would like to generate supports on the model beneath the one overlaping the model before. But ChituBox only sets supports to the build plate. How can i add supports between models? I do the supports manual.

Hey Guys and Girls,

As some of you know I've been working on this little project of mine for a while now but we are finally ready to give it a go with our kickstarter launch!!

The entire project was designed using Fusion 360 and prototyped using a mix of the anycubic photon and a creality CR-10, I think it's a perfect example of something to show case a start-up product example.

Would mega appreciate you all to like and share the page / post and link so we can get as much attention as possible!

Wish me luck guys. Also for those of you that are interested in the product itself, if we are successful in raising our needed funds we will be giving away 5 units to some lucky draw winners!

We will officially launch our campaign from the 22.11.19 Fingers crossed!

Thanks for all your support!
