Trying to learn how to do supports , So I try auto , platform only to see what it suggests needs supporting.

I could go from there , but then I try "ALL" and i get a million supports.

Is "ALL" a good indicator of what really needs supports rather then the platform , one or could I get away with that?

Wish It would work more like Cura where you can tell it to stay of the model but still do supports where needed but yes..

Should I use all as an indicator and then try to achieve those supports manually ?

Any tips ?

Has anyone tried doing threads ? How accurate is that , and if not accurate , how do you counteract that ?

A rando community question: How come 3D-print files aren't pre-set with supports for resin/filament?

It seems to me that the community could iterate the suggested settings and eventually the most popular/accurate version would bubble to the surface.

Oh, and Happy New Year!

What resin would people recommend for accuracy of prints? I’ve heard Siraya Blu but it’s very expensive to import into the UK. I did try Elegoo Grey but found it worse than the anycubic green the printer came with.

I'm making replacement parts for some old electronics. What's a good resin mix for accurate parts with some ABS type flex? Such as parts that have little hooks that flex a little and lock into place. Blu mixed with a little Tenacious?

It the moment i've only really been using elegoo grey and black.

I have a .stl that I'd like to cut into 5 smaller round sections maintaining the topography. Is there a way to do this in Cura et al without importing into a 3d program?

what Cura settings are good to print out 28 mm settings for SLA files from Hero Forge. Just got the Photon up and running and leveled and am anxious to try printing a mini. Thanks

After extensive information digging there are two doubts I still have.
1) In the FEP installation videos I see at the very end a scalpel is used to remove excesses out of the vat, doesn't this ruin the inside surface of the metal by carving it with the blade? I would prefer to cut it with something else, maybe small precision scissors, less accurate but leading to no damage to the metal surface
2) I will be using the printer occasionally, and usually you get warned about resin getting "old", and especially leading to problems if left in the vat where it might get solid. Would covering the whole printer with a heavy black cloth, stopping 100% of the light, be equivalent to move the residual resin back into the bottle after the print? Also, have tests been done to see for how long can a resin bottle be proficiently used in time if stored in optimal conditions (which are these conditions?)

Okay here's my problem. On my laptop, when I try to open a stl or slice a file he Photon slicer closes. I try it on my desktop it works fine. The easy solution slice everything on the desktop. But, I would like to figure this problem out as it does the same thing with cura and my other printers. It has to be a setting on my laptop that is causing this. It is not the antivirus as I have shut it off and still does the same thing. Any ideas are welcome.

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,

Anyone know if the screen of the photon and the photon S are the same ? is it possible to buy a screen for the original photon and install it on the photon S ?

Besause i'm pretty intrested by the mod of Андрей Шестаков on the same page (separete the glass of the lcd and put it closer to the FEP for more accuracity ) and i've found a lcd on aliexpress selling without the glass but for photon original.
