I have a coffee can oven with a standard bulb that I used to use for curing polymer clay. Could I replace that bulb with a UV bulb and use it for curing prints?? If so what kind of specs am I looking for??

Hey all, I am looking at trying clear resin. Contemplating Monocure Clear and Elegoo Transparent (is that their clear?) Looking at posts, I see folks having good and bad luck with both so trying to figure out which is having more good luck. ;)

What settings are folks using successfully for each?

What is the best way folks are keeping prints clear? Some models may need to be partially painted, partly left clear.

Which UV protectants are folks using successfully (especially brush on)?

Hi folks. Made my first print yesterday, tried to cure it in the late afternoon sunlight. Not sure it got enough UV, the part is still tacky this morning. Does it need more light, or did I not clean it well enough?

Hello people! At the moment i have a problem im strugglibg to solve. I need to make lens for RC models. Im using anycubic clear (wanhao clear) And deatail come out perfect but the lens is mate and not clear. Using medical alcohol 96% to wash. Mate surface is not because of wahing. To those that dont know - micro steps (layers) make outer surface mate when inside it is all solid smooth. This is besic mate glass + water effect. Put anything liquid on it and bam! - its clear.
My Idea was to use art brush to put on thin layer of resin after wash (on dry part) and cure it. But to my dissapointment it does not cure! I tryed different lamps, even photons screen led. Thin layer doesnt cure, it stays sticky.

So i put a drop on a plastic card and a thin layer of resin nearby. - Drop (thicker resin) did cure in a secind. Thin layer stayes almost liquid.
I tryed:
2 component adhesive resit - it becomes cloudy and tends to shring in to a drop.
tryed nail artists "Top" resin coater (the one they cure under UV light in beaty salon) - same thing thin layer doesnt cure

Ordinary lacquer is no good because it wont last long. What can i use people? Please give suggestions.

Just got a new printer. When I ran the UV test, there's this imperfection. Any idea what that is and whether it will effect print quality?

I've heard/seen that clear resin can yellow pretty quickly (maybe prevented a bit by a UV proof finishing spray like Krylon). Would it help to mix like 10%(or 5%) Siraya Blue (I know will color it a tiny bit blue/green) so it has a bit of color to it? Would this prevent any potential yellowing?

I've searched the group and still having trouble installing the new lcd screen. When doing the uv detect test I'm not getting the frame image to show. It feels like it connected to the right spot when plugging I to the motherboard so I dont know. This is the second lcd screen as we accidentally broke the first one. Both before we broke the first not having luck on image.

Hey all I’m making a light box for curing prints, I know there is UV-B and UV-A light from the sun, but light bulbs I find is UV-A only.

Does anyone know the UV curing requirement or will both UV types work?

Thanks.

Just finished the first building stage of my DIY washing and curing station. Used a UV lamp and timer from AliExpress and some left over Dibond from my workplace. Will add a magnetic stirrer to the bottom and a 3-way switch to also allow the stirrer to be connected with the timer. Just waiting for the magnets. Door will be fitted with an acrylic sheet with UV protection film. In front you see my current washing station ?
