Hi!

Can I add some pigment to UV resin? I have foggy-translucent resin and they annoying me... I can't see through them and can't se details. I made hollow print and that was killing my eyes :P

Hey everyone! Finally happy to say I got the Photon on the lightning deal posted earlier. Will be using it mostly for tabletop minis and small terrain scatter. Any tips to make use easier? I hear everyone is using Chitubox as the slicer software, is that what I should go with? I also hear everyone is using the Elegoo brand resin. I'm also unclear on the post processing, do I need to wash it with isopropyl alcohol and then put it under UV rays? Finally, I have a 6 month old and cats, so I need to be absolutely sure about keeping the printer protected and filtering fumes. I was going to get a cabinet to put it in and use a carbon filter, will that be enough? Thanks in advance!

What could be causing this? The section of model in the middle is still tacky. Doesn't appear to cure under UV. Resin is Ameralabs coal black. It has happened on a few prints, but not all of them.

Hey guys,
Looking for a recommendation to complement my photon. Another resin printer. My main issues with the photon are occasional build plate adhesion issues. Otherwise, I use castable resin. So typically a stronger UV would be preferred. I'm not totally against a true laser SLA also.

Budget? Less than form 3, more than photon?

Hey guys, finally took the plunge and ordered my photon off Ebay. Due next week. First things first, I know it gets asked a lot as I have been on this page a while but I cannot find a one stop shop for a list of everything I should have before first print ie IPA, UV lights for curing filter and fan for fumes and so on. Is there a good youtuber to follow to get the run down before I start?

Secondly, I am in Australia. Any other Aussies here? I had a quick look for extra resin and didn't find much except outrageously priced resin. Is there a trick / time / place to find some decently priced?

Thanks in advance!

Alright, I got my first real "issue" with my Photon. Apologies for the long write-up but I wanted to give an accurate account of events that have lead to here. I had a print fail last night, standard support issues from the looks of it. I cleaned the build plate, drained the resin to remove any stuck bits, refilled, started printing before I left for the day. Come home and it says my print finished but the build plate is still submerged. I lift the build plate out and there is this half-cured sheet of resin on the plate... Super weird. So I go to move the vat and it doesn't seem to be moving. I know not to yank it, so I twist and it comes out. Appears to be something on the base (May have gotten something on it after cleaning). Great, time for a DEEP clean. Build plate, drain all resin, bath in IPA, wipe EVERYTHING down with microfiber. Then I clean build screen as well. Put everything back. Run my print that failed through validator, fixed a few trouble spots, resave it. Run again... Notice I'm on layer 5 and I haven't heard the build plate move. Stop print. Go to lift plate... Doesn't move. Tap it a few more times, finally does. Do a UV test just incase: Bottom half of screen isn't displaying. Turn off and on; UV test is fine now and Z-Axis is responsive. Pull plate and clean off. Load the file into ChiTuBox, reorient the file and reslice. Start print again. Does the first layer, doesn't move for the second and the LCD touch screen stays dark and then the printer restarts. That was the last I touched it. Unsure of the best course of action now, as I've never had any WEIRD issues like this happen before, especially since I had so many happen at once. Looking for some advice on where would be the best place to start troubleshooting. Help me Vinicius Silva, your my only hope... But seriously, I'll take anyone's advice. Ok test print is done. I washed it in IPA and rinsed with water. I dried it before curing and since it's dark out I threw together a makeshift curing station until I build something better.

I am very happy with the results. I have no idea though how long I should cure it and how to tell if its under or over cured. Its looks good to me and it's not brittle. The cube has some play to it but its not "soft". How long would you guys cure something in a setup with 3 UV Blacklights like that?
