Did the carbon filter mod for my photon and made a marked difference in odor.

Now I can run off the shelf respirator masks to decrease smell and make it safer to be around.

Where I differed from the thingiferse file is that I had no interest in printing the backplate vertically so I had a friend use the waterjet cutter to rip out a couple of plates in a few minutes.

I'll end up sandblasting and maybe coat them. But they fit nice and the mod was a success.

I need some troubleshooting advice. I’m printing some tiny football helmet and masks. I had a few helmets appear to separate from the supports [before picture] (this after many successful prints). It was recommended that I relevel the printer which I did using the paper method. Same result. So then I releveled using the Flint Reed method and also bumped my bottom exposure up 25% from recommended.

Take a look at the after photos this morning. All printed fine but that one helmet which is a copy of the one on the other end. What is causing the print to come out like that after a month of printing that model fine?

First succesful print with AC Orange (never worked for me, until I upgraded the Z rail and replaced the buildplate).

0.05 @ 12s, 8 BL @ 90s

Too bad the color masks the detail of the model.
Will have to wait until the model is cured to apply a primer.

So, I'm finding the fumes of the IPA are much more of an irritant for my throat than the smell of the resin. For breathing PPE, what kind of masks do you guys use? Just a dust mask or do you go for an N-95 or what?

Elegoo grey prints. Demon painted with color shift paint and Hannibal mask has a crackle effect. All are Halloween masks for my wife's dolls. My wife is sewing up a straitjacket for the Hannibal doll.

I am going to get my printer tomorrow and have been pondering future upgrades. I am needing a reality check from those of you which have experience.

How much UV would be too much?

The stock UV source is listed at 25W, which I assume is INPUT power, not the UV OUTPUT power at 405nm. I have access to UV LED arrays of similar size to the original, but have 5 to 10 times more output power capability, still at 405nm. Would this speed things up, or would there be other limiting factors? Before anyone asks, the cooling solution and control circuitry for said UV LED is no problem. I would just have to make an interface between the existing circuitry and the printer's UV control circuits.

I am assuming I could speed things up some (basically like the 'S') but just how fast could I realistically go? Would it be worth doing?

hey hive mind, I am debating updating firmware so i can get anti alias on my photon. Everything I have found seemd to be from august or earlier. Is it just a case of bunging the new firmware 4.2.19 on printer then ticking the anti alias box in chitubox (he asks naively)? thanks in advance :-)

How many of you use your resin to post process your PLA prints? I find it works great for leaving a nice, smooth surface after I cure it. I'm just experimenting with Halloween masks at the moment.
