Need serious help with scaling. Zbrush is just an inaccurate cluster **** to export correct scales so I tried scanning in meshmixer and it seems just as bad. For example I have a model that is cut up and I would like top be 13 inches tall; tmu 13inches = 355.6 mm yet with that value every piece is yuge when in photins slicer.

After about 25 attempts to get the damn supports right, resulting in many many pancake aliens, and quite a few that only exist below the belt, I finally got this little bugger done!

2mm wall thickness, basically fills the build volume.
Monocure Rapid Red - 10x80 second base layers, 11 second mid-layers at 50 micron height.
About a 13.5 hour total build.
Hollowed and drain holes added in Meshmixer, supports in ChiTuBox. No raft, just the support bases.
Printed at a 15 degree angle to the side (all I could manage to keep him in the build volume)

The bottom came out looking like hamburger, but was easy enough to sand back. The rest of him looks cute as hell. Thinking I'll cut a coin slot in the back of his head and give him to my little man as a piggy-bank!

1/6 scale Plague Doctor mask for an action figure I'm working on.
Downloaded the model from thingiverse, reduced it down in scale, then thickened the walls in meshmixer because they were way too thin once reduced.
Came out really nicely for such a quick experiment.

Hi all!! I have a question. I am printing with Photon and I always use the support generator from photon slicer. The question is: do you use the default support generator or you prefer Meshmixer support? I never print with meshmixer support and I dont know if it will work well...

Put together this fully articulated doll I finished printing the parts for last night in AnyCubic “Skin”. Some parts could probably do with printing again Cus I got some warping around supports ? . I Sculpted using meshmixer & sculptris ?

Why are the exported STL files from Meshmixer so large? I'll often import/export the same file into blender, not do any editing and it'll divide the file size by 10 or less. Anybody else notice this?

May I ask for help regarding hollowing this hood ornament/mascot? If I try to hollow it using Meshmixer, after clicking on the hollow icon, its shows some calculation bars, but no hollow modell appears. Why is that?

Some people said, maybe the wall thickness is to low, but even by scaling up this model by 500%, the hollowing process still refuses to work.

Apologies to any other parents here for the earworm:

Baby Groot doo doo doo doo doo doo,
Baby Groot doo doo doo doo doo doo,
Baby Groot doo doo doo doo doo doo,
Baby Groot!

Printed in Monocure Rapid Black.
50 um layer thickness
6 x 60 sec bottom layers
12 second mid-layers
No supports, printed arse-down on the plate
Model from Thingiverse - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2014307
Printed the ~1M triangle single-part model
Hollowed in Meshmixer to 1.5mm wall.
Sliced in ChiTuBox.
3 drain holes in his butt to clear resin and rinse, no suction relief holes needed.
9 hour 25 minute print.
Cleanup was Dirty IPA then Clean IPA. No water. Used a syringe to squirt IPA up his backside to rinse the inside.

(I think that's all the usual questions answered, if anyone asks something else general I'll add it to the list.)

Has anyone run into Photon's slicer dropping layers on portions of your model's supports?

I took the following steps:
1) Orient model in Meshmixer
2) ChiTuBox automatic supports, plus a couple added manually
3) Export STL from ChiTuBox
4) Open in AnyCubic Photon slicer
5) Export photon file

In this process, several of my supports generate with dropped layers and I get 166 layers of "islands" in the Photon Validator tool. You can see them missing in the visualizer photo.

Going back to step four, opening in ChiTuBox nets me no dropped layers and 32 "islands". This one's visualizer looks fine.

The only difference is the application used to slice. I use the exact same STL with supports baked into the model. This is one example, but I have seen this on other models as well.

Any ideas, or is it time for me to abandon the AnyCubic slicer?
