Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » HMI

Hello all. Got some fails last days and don’t know why. The process to create a file is meshmixer for fixing the model and hollowing, prusa slicer for support then chitubox for slicing and finally photon validator for fixing islands. The result is that only supports are coming out without nothing sticking on them. The only difference than before is that here in Italy now is autumn and we got some more umidity and low temp. Any advice? This is going drive me crazy ?

Edit: resin is anycubic translucent green, base layer exposition time is 90sec for 4 layers then 8 sec each layer.

First actual Print. Forest Imp for Gloomhaven. Looking for advice. How would I go by combining with a base? MeshMixer?

Hi,

is there a way to smooth the inside of a hallowed model? while keeping the offset distance the same?

I tried hollowing a model in Meshmixer w/ lots of skulls on the base, and the inside turned more bumpy than something that I cannot think of a metaphor for right now.

I would like to keep the shell thin, as there are some areas that cannot be hollowed unless this is the case.

Thanks

Dear Makers,

#############################
"I don't read long posts-'TL;DR'-Edition":

I got myself Simon Jackson 's Dual Z Upgrade pack ( https://jacksonproducts.net/ ) and I am genuinly impressed with the improvement!

My first 2 Prints where badly sliced, I want to show them anyway to demonstrate the new Printing quality. So don't judge the DUal Z on the Screwed up Models, but on the layers they have.

Prints where Made with Monocure Grey on 0,05mm, which usually was my "Rough" resolution. When I wanted a nice even finish I printed on 0,2mm, where lines where still visible but neglegtible.
To demonstrate *That* I will post a comparison of a 0.05 mm print pre- and Post Upgrade later. Stay tuned.

#############################
"Heck, NOW I wanna know the full story-Edition":
I don't wanna lie. The upgrade ain't cheap and put a little hole in my hobby pocket. Hence, I ordered it drunk, for then I have the lowest treshold for spending money on things I like or are interested in. My wife shall never discover that little trick of mine...

I recieved it fairly quick, *perfectly* packed! Not even the worst and/or most stupid mailman could have screwed that parcel up. Kudos, Simon.

I installed it last weekend, using Simon's provided video. I am by far not gifted when it comes to craftworks and the like. Hence I may have put a little nigget in my pants when I started disassembling my printer which I definitively could NOT afford to rebuf, would I mess it up somehow. Buuut: I made it. Hence, i am very confident to say, *Everybody* can! Just saying.

Back to topic:
Yesterday I found the time to slice a little Buddha and a Coin. I sliced the Buddha like an idiot, meaning: I hollowed it out in Meshmixer (which's Hollowing-function I prefer to ChiTu Box's) with 1-1.5 mm wall thickness only to find out later that the STL was bloody huge. I wanted a small, little, tiney Buddhy to life his peacefull live on me Computer's monitor. So I shrinked the buddha in ChiTu Slicer, which inevitable also shrinked my 1 mm Wall thickness to something around 0.1-0.2 mm. I don't know how I could not make that connection at the time. Spoiler Alert, the Budda didnt work too well.

However, on the pictures you maybe see that the Buddha literally is thinner than a sheet of paper. Yet (mostly) printed. My vanilla Photon wouldn't have been able to do that.

Furthermore, you will see on the pictures that there are NO visible Printing lines. Not to the human Eye, even very hard if magnified with the cell phone camera.

I also hat a slight error in the coin, I can not explain yet. I will print both again this weekend with a better prepared file...
I am very Impressen and I wholeheartedly recommend this Upgrade to every user of the Original Photon (V1).

Pics for comparing old 0.5 resolution to new 0.5 resolution will follow soon (aint got my old print with me right now).

Kind regards

I have some wierd artifacts popping up when I try to slice this Goose.

Gif shows what the slicer preview shows of the model in the first picture.

Ive ran the model through both meshmixer and maya looking for wierd artifacts but the model seems clean.

Any ideas?

Hey guys! I’m really exited to show you all what I e been working on. I’m a bit obsessed with the creepy Garfield stuff and I’ve spent far too many hours making a diorama of one of the pictures. Hope you enjoy! Models printed on my Photon S.

Garfield is a custom creation of mine taking a BUNCH of models from thingiverse and slicing them together.

Jon is from thingiverse as well, but I manipulated his legs a little to make him standing a bit more evenly then the original file. I’m no master at 3D modeling, so I couldn’t figure out how to get the shotgun to be pointing up without kinda fucking over the model.

The base is face bases from kingdom death that i resin cast and made a really big one. Just kinda like the face bases so took some artistic liberties.

The wall is just brass wood glued together and broken to make look broken and stuff. Primed painted and washed to blend in with the rest of the diorama.

All in all I’ve put a good 60 hours into the customizing Garfield, printing, and painting!(I’ve got no idea what I’m doing I’m meshmixer so it probably shouldn’t have taken so long... but it did ? )

Once I get my printer back up and running, I have created a dead Odie model to print and I wanna put it on the back side of the wall behind Jon as well. ?‍♂️ ?

It's only slightly creepy seeing your own face on a miniature... I scanned my face with a cheap XYZ 3d scanner, then used Blender and Meshmixer to add it to a Thingiverse design. The hands are from meshmixer. Resin is Elegoo.

Hi. I am trying to clean the inside of this car model, selecting surfaces and deleting them but this "left overs" (blue lines) are being a pain to get rid off in Meshmixer. Does anybody have an idea on how to remove them in a more productive way? Selecting and deleting one by one is taking me ages...

Finished my Seconds Print and it IS wonderful.

I hollowed the Skull With meshmixer ( i got some Strang Things Happen when i tried hollow With chitubox)
And i Changes some teeth With meshmixer that they dont need Support (easier than i though)

All Supports are manually Set With medium
Verified With Photon validator.

Some questions i have:
the Marks on the Skull from the support, can i remove them cleaner ? They Made a "hole" after removing (Other settings maybe)

AS well the support which are located at the Print itself IT remains 3 knobs per Support. (See Pictures)

And in the tongue are is a "Line" i think its from a Bubble trapped INSIDE ? Right ?

Couple of prints from everyone's favorite.

Question for this group: what's the best/easiest tool if I wanted to add "slotta" style tabs to the feet of these minis? I use ChituBox for everyday slicing, and I've downloaded meshmixer but ran away screaming the first time I opened it. Just buck up and figure it out, or is there something else that's easier for this limited use case?
