Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » FDM

Okay, so I tried my first real mini print after some calibration, and it came out super stretched. Or rather, I think the height is fine along the Z, but the X and Y look off. Did some digging and it seems like ChiTuBox didn't have the correct build volume to start, so I changed it to match that of Photon Slicer, 68.04 x 120.96 x 150.

That didn't really make sense to me, coming from the FDM side of things where that will just cause the outside edges to get cut off, but I guess if the pixel resolution of the LCD remains the same, it changes the DPI of the X/Y dimensions and that affects how the print comes out in those dimensions, ya?

Morning all! New user here. I have several questions/issues and I wanted to see what y’all thought.

I printed “the cube” fine on my second attempt. The first time didn’t adhere to the build plate, but I suspect it was because I re-sliced the file. Using the original file it printed as expected.

I have an issue with the anycubic slicer in that it will not import/display the files when I try to bring them in, so, I have been using ChiTubox as my slicer. This seems to work fine but here was my first print FDM version on the right of course. Any thoughts?

Hey anycubic folks! Want to print tiles for your board-gaming needs? If you do anything with tabletop rpgs/wargames get these now and you can print them yourselves!

Ill be adding more throughout the week as we get ready for our convention this weekend.

Hello. Just joined the group and just purchased a Photon on Amazon. I have 4 FDM printers (2 Ender 3, 1 Ender 2, and a Monoprice Mini) but this is my first resin printer.

I have 2 questions.

What resin does everyone recommend and what slicer is most used?

Hi Guys, i see a lot of post where people expose their problems with the printer,

So just a quick message to say that my photon came yesterday, and everything is fine. It is pretty much plug n play (of course there is a learning curve but coming from the fdm world i 'm not really a beginner)

I had a little problem with the bed leveling but a quick search on this group solved the problem (do like me guys
There is everything you need already =) !) So a huge thanks to this community , I'm really happy with my purchase overall ^^

I just remembered some great advice I got over 4 years ago when I first got into FDM printing. It was something I needed to remember and so I thought I would pass it on for the greater good of the group.

The advice was from Joel Telling, the 3D Printing Nerd. Joel was talking to new printers; people who were just starting out. He said that many people seem afraid of failure or afraid they will break or in some way mess up their machines. His advice was to print. Print often. Print big. Print small. Print under different circumstances. Print with different materials. Try different settings... just don’t be afraid to actually print with your printer. You may not know what you are doing now but if you print you will learn.

This was something I personally needed to remember as I’m just starting again in the SLA printing space. Hope you found it helpful.

how foodsafe is cured Resin?
how food safe does something need to be?
ie could you use a cured resin print as a cookie cutter (ie very little contact), as a cup or plate, or a spoon/fork, as a multi use container?
or not at all?
i can find plenty of related info about FDM but not on resin prints.

So, I have been watching and reading foe a while now. With the latest sale I bit the bullet and purchased a Photon, it arrives today. I’m looking forward to seeing what this printer can do!

My first question - I have downloaded the AnyCubic slicer and ChiTuBox. The ChiTuBox has a lot more options, so is it the better slicer?

Second - I will be printing 1:64 scale figures and I see that most prints are at an angle. What is the preferred angle? (30, 45 degree or other)

Third - supports, for FDM I use Meshmixer. Should I continue with Meshmixer or use the support generator in ChiTuBox?

Thanks in advance for helping make make my first Photon printing experience successfull!

Hey all I’m Experienced FDM printing with my Prusa MK3 i3 with PrusaSlicer and some times use meshmixer and rarely use Cura.

I know there is a Photon branded slicer but which is best for the anycubic photon unit? I apologise if it’s been asked many times already but couldn’t find a post.

Looking for freeware like Cura if you have other recommendations.

Howdy, just joined tonight. I pulled the trigger on a Photon the other day for my mini printing, freeing my 3 FDM printers to do terrain. So my plan was to print one of the 4" exhaust adapters and use dryer vent pipe and an inline fan to push the fumes out of the house.

So is this the best setup for dealing with the fumes or are there better solutions? My print table sits in my basement, just below my son's room. I would really like to eliminate all the fumes I possibly can. What can I reasonably expect?
