Just ordered my Trigorilla Photon today from Amazon.ca. Excited to enter the world of resin printing. I have 5 FDM printers but the precision of resin is mind blowing. Thanks for the add. I look forward to being a member of this group.

Any words of wisdom before i get started?

Captain America Bust. While the rest is printing on FDM printer, wanted to capture the face detail. Photon did it’s magic. Still learning and optimizing supports. It even captured the helmet texture(hard to see in pics).

So how does one go about installing the epax firmware? I don't really care about the warranty, nor was I aware that there even was one. and at the end of the day would probably be cheaper just to buy whatever was wrong then to mail it out to China. Anyways I want to play with this anti-aliasing, is there any good guides and how to do so? Ive flashed many fdm boards so the concept is not terribly new to me, would just like a brief tutorial so I don't immediately brick this thing lol

First, thanks for the add! Second, I’m either thinking of getting the Elegoo Mars or Anycubic Photon (or Photon S) as my first resin printer. I have a Creality CR-10s FDM already. Anyone have experience with both the Mars and Photon? What are the pros and cons of each. I realize this is a Photon group so answers may be a little biased ? .

I've been using FDM printers for years but 2 days before Hurricane Michael I ordered a Photon. Delivery was delayed a little and it's been moving with my family from condo to condo as our house was being rebuilt. Well, my family and I have finally moved into our home and my man cave has it's first operational toy. I'm sure the printer can do better but I'm really impressed. This is my 4th print and it's done with the green resin that comes with the printer at .02mm layers. I've been lurking in this group for a few months waiting for the day when I could print something myself and get one step closer to feeling like things are getting back to normal in my town. It feels good. Thanks for keeping me entertained and giving me something to look forward to.

Am planning to print a hotted and duct for my FDM printer - is there such a thing as a high heat tolerant Resin? If so what is best?

Is there any way to control our photon remotely? With all my fdm printers I am using octoprint. I was wondering if there is something similar for the photon

As I stated earlier, I am more of a practical printing guy. This was printed straight on the bed. The container also, with the holes facing down using 4 internal 3.5mm drainholes. I see the tiniest amount of Zwobble but I am about to design a fix for that that I can print on my FDM printer.

For the caps I did multiple tests but straight on the plate (without drainhols) was the way to go.

Hi everyone! I just ordered mine, should get it later this week. Quick question, besides what comes with the printer are there any other supplies I should get. I know I need alcohol for rinsing. I'm planning on getting some UV lights. I've got experience with lots of commercial FDM printers but this will be my first go at this type of printing.

Hello guys, i have encountered a problem that i really dont understand. I want to print thist file: https://www.shapeways.com/product/4C4LF3HXC/dwarf-druid…

In the 3D view everything looks fine. I already printed this file on an FDM printer a while back without any problems. But as soon as i slice it for the photon, a massive "column" gets sliced into it, from the buildplate to the head. I have absolutely no idea why. I tried to auto repair it in meshmixer. Exported it to .obj and back to stl in different programs. No success, it looks fine in any 3D viewer and printed without any problems in Cura.

Weird thing is: Its allways from the buildplate to the head. If i lay the model on the back, it still wents from the buildplate to the head, so it wont rotate with the file (even though the shape is different now). When i lift the whole model up from the bottom, the column still starts at the bottom. It basically connects the buildplate with a shape in the head with a solid column for no reason.

I have now idea what to do, how something like this can happen and why it doesnt happen in any other slicer or 3D program.

Any ideas?
