Just ordered my first photon. I am an experienced professional 3D printer of FDM products. Figured it's time I get my feet wet.

Amazon has a flash sale right now for 20% off. Anything else I need?

Quick question, I'm planning a fairly large print; using a raft with the supports takes up almost the whole build plate, should I not do the raft or is it ok? Very new to resin printing, pretty good at FDM, though this is one of those concepts that doesn't carry over very well.

Hi All,
I try to print out some cards but at the and they are too brittle. Could anybody recommend me some resin that won't brake like glass? Some flexible resin maybe or something that similar like PLA or PETG. They are good materials but my FDM printer resolution is not enough.

has anyone put together a pi based monitor for their printer. I have octopi for my FDM printer, and want something similar, it would be awesome if there was a way to interface with the controller to remotely monitor progress. at this stage thinking a camera, temp and humidity sensor, with relays to control the fume extraction fan and UV Curing light setup

Thanks for the add. I am waffling on purchasing a photon. I currently have a few FDM printers but looking for feedback on the following

1.) I have seen some notes from folks about not using the printer in a carpeted area because of how messy the resin can be. Was curious what many in the group do. I have a garage and an unfinished room in the basement. Both areas are around 50F. But it would beat putting down plastic in my office carpet. Are there any special precautions i would need to take where it's 50F?
2.) How challenging is the odor from the resin. I know this is subjective and is it correct the odor is only present when the printer is running.
3.) Are there any other pieces of information that i should evaluate prior to purchasing

Noob question is it safe to leave a print in the machine overnight and clean/cure in the morning? Or does it need to be removed ASAP?

With fdm I’d print over night all the time and run my printers 24/7

Hello! I'n new here from using FDM for a few years. I have a Photon on the way. What resin is of reasonable quality and cheap in Australia.

I've been researching the anycubic for a while now (might pull the trigger on black friday), and i plan to use mainly for models (like the sanix ones), a question that i cant find the answer is this:
Does the resin blend well with the fdm print materials? i.e. if i print a detailed head and glue it to a FDM printed body, would it work?

Hey guys. I 3d print for construction and architecture purposes. Do you think it's possible to print something like a parking structure (glorious and beautiful ;) ) with the anycubic (in 1 pieces) Definitely not worth it with fdm in 1 piece. I put in in the slicer but not very confident in those flat surfaces. Still pretty new to the slicer and DLP too.
