Looks like I got 4.2.18 installed. Directions on Git Hub questionable! Question: I see Anycubic Photon Slicer, Chitubox and Photon Workshop. Whats the difference? Which one are most using?

Think I just got lucky. Wanted to get a Photon for a while and ordered one early this week. Arrived today. Been reading a lot on all the stuff regarding software and firmware so thought i should check things out. Its a regular Photon new in box - Read out the info screen. Says the following: Photon 5.5 and LCD 4.0.11 Looks like early code?? What should I bring it up to and what about a decent slicer? Thank you !

Looking at some of the many mods mention for the Photon. One is the addition of a heater and another is the extraction of the resin fumes. Has anyone installed both? If so are you finding that the extraction of the fumes sucks out the heat and the heater cannot keep up?

I sure would like to replace my USB port with an SD card setup on my Photon. According to the response from Anycubic I cannot. They suggest just plugging in an SD card reader into the USB port. Any suggestions? Thank you !

Question: Are the vapors emitted off of the resin flammable? I ask this as the only space I have to set up my Photon is in our mechanical room. The room is 12 foot square and up against one of the concrete walls is the hot water heater, furnace and the water conditioner. The water heater and furnace are GAS fired. I do plan to connect the Photon to a fan feeding into a charcoal filter canister. I DO NOT have the ability to vent it out side.

Getting more and more confused. Got my Proton a while back and just now getting ready to use. I go to the official website and it lists the lastest firmware as V1.1. I go over to the GIT and I see V4 something.

Looking at venting my Photon to the outside of workshop. I can plumb it into a dryer vent but my concern is are the fumes flammable? Have yet to see anything on the fumes except the stink!

Got a question on the USB. I have seen postings where it is suggested to get a better USB thumb drive. Is the drive that comes with the printer questionable or are the files on it questionable also. Where do I go to get good files and what do I need.
Just getting ready to use the machine.

So far, so good. Setup my newly acquired Anycubic Photon this morning. Followed the very nice manual and it did what it was told to do. Not too sure about the leveling procedure. I positioned the paper over the screen and ran the platform down until it touched the paper then one button push at a time on the smallest scale continued to run it down until I could not pull the paper out. From there i moved the Z axis up and at the same time push press down on the platform checking until I could pull the paper out but not be able to push it back in. Tightened the screw on the platform. Removed the paper and with a thin strip of plastic used as a gauge i ran it under each corner of the platform. In each corner the pressure putting the plastic strip felt the same so I will assume it is level in the x and y axis.
The real test will come later put I almost do not want to put resin in it as it looks so nice and clean!
What are most of owners using for slicing software? I am use to Curs, Repeiter, ans Simplify3D. ORe they OK or should I still with what came with the Anycubic?
A lot to learn yet.
