is there any way for the chi tu slicer to increase the tolerance of parts? Similar to horizontal part compensation in Simplify 3D? Getting a few parts that don't quite fit.

Well, it isn't a photon but I have an Epax x1 on the way. I need a crash course on resin printing! I have been using FDM printers for a long time which I know is completely different but I do have an understanding of how the resin stuff works.

Are there any good guides to read that you guys would recommend? Or videos.....

Things like model orientation, support placement, drainage for the resin on a hollow model (if that's a thing). I also am reading about chamber temps affecting the prints? Does the printer have a temp sensor in the chamber or do I need to add one

Also, a list of all the tools and accessories I need for resin printing!

Thanks everyone!

Can't wait to get started!

Edit: I have Simplify3d for slicing, not sure if that will work with the Epax or not. What about firmware? Stick to stock or flash it with something else?

Does anyone here use Simplify3d with their printer? I have read it is possible to remove the extrusion commands and replace with the on/off for the lcd.

***Picture for attention as well as will be my first full model when I get the machine dialed in as I just received the files. ?

Has anyone tried out the Formware 3D for slicing? It looks good, and like Simplify3D has a cost associated with it but if its good it could be worth the price!

Hi,
I am looking forward to recieve my printer and at the same time I am trying to learn ChiTuBox. I own an FDM machine and print anatomical models (bones and vessels) created using CT data from real patients. The method to extract this kind of data is to define a gray scale threshold on the images and discard every other structure in the image. The problem is that bones are not entirely made of compact bone, but also contain spongious bone (mostly inside the bone), which is, well, spongious. so there are innumerable holes inside these bones. I can 3d print these on FDM machines, using Simplify3D's "merge outlines into a single solid model" option. I wonder if there is a similar solution for resin based printers (I have tried to slice one of my models on ChiTuBox and the validator told me that I had literally hundreds of layers with unfixable islands, so I don't think they can be printed in their native state). As a reference I've attached one of my models printed on a FDM printer.

Is the Formware 3D slicer software worth the the cost? Is it the same difference as comparing simplify3D to Cura for Fdm printers? The features seem like they would be very handy to have in one application instead of having 3 or 4 open...

Hello every one i would like some help please, im with the following problem in image, 2 parts modeled to fit one each other but is dosent happens...i was looking for xy compensation like simplify 3d and i found shrinkage or expansion factor of the resin... people says it can be from 3 to 6% ? .... is there a way to regulate the lcd to get closer of the resin to catch a smaller area and reduce the walls of the piece??

Thanks!

Hello, I am new to the group I usually print FDM (for the last 5 years) but I convinced the office to buy a DLP to test... since I have the machine I did 10 prints and had no problem they all came out nicely...

my problem is to get used to the support system, the upside down print and last but not least the Anycubic Slicer that seriously needs some improvement

(I rather not use Meshmixer it freezes my computer ALL THE TIME)

My questions are:

1) the art of support. There is a site or a book where someone analyzes many printed object pointing out where supports are critical?
I prefer to place them semi-manually usually but I lack a deep technical knowledge or experience of when and where we REALLY need them

2) How to nicely clean a piece from supports any special advice I use tiny curve scissor and my hands are in pain for the last 4-5 days and almost got blinded by a piece jumping in my eye

3) Anycubic slicer: I like to work with automatic support then remove most of what I don't think is needed then add some for the final touch but it is really... really hard to work in it!!!
there is any secret command like slicing&support like in simplify3d

As you can see in the picture I got better and with TEST 4 I was able to preserve most of the detail in TEST 2 hands was floating as well as the face tentacle...after printing test 4 I notice 4-5 support were to close to the body and difficult to remove but very hard to select and move in Anycubic slicer

Is there another slicer that we can use with the Photon? like Simplify3d, or something a little more refined? I also have a Form2 and the Preform software is amazing but its limited to their machines....
